Flamingo Lodge

We, a family of four stayed for a night on our spontaneous trip to Torquay. We were lucky to find such a gem at the very last minute. The rooms were beautifully decorated, amenities were provided, bathroom was spotless and the beds were the most comfortable. There were three parking spots available, and the guest house was easy to locate. I highly recommend this place.

The bedroom and bathroom were perfect for what my ten year-old son and I needed and being right next to the kitchen it was very handy for preparing meals and also eating. The host was very friendly and immediately answered any questions we had about the accommodation. The kitchen had everything you'd need to prepare, cook, eat and store food. I would have no hesitation recommending this

I can't fault any aspect of it. The bedroom was warm but we stayed in the middle of a heat wave so there was not much the host could do about that except she had tried to cool it ahead of our arrival with a fan which was very nice of her and the fan did it's best for us as well.

The room was nicely decorated. Our host was very friendly. Keypad door locks are great.

The curtains did not meet and there is a streetlight outside the room. I was awake for most of the night due to the light pollution. There is not sound proofing. This is probably the noisiest guest house I have ever stayed in. We could hear the people in the next room and downstairs. Somebody was hammering downstairs before 8! The doors slam loudly. The water pressure to the hand basin is very poor with extremely slow flow. The shower head needs descaling. The shower tray is very slippery and I fell suffering bruising. There was no chocolate which was mentioned in the description !
