Doward Farm

We stayed at Doward Farm for two nights for a family get together and had such a great time. The farmhouse is full of character, there is a large dining table which was perfect for us (a group of 14), the kitchen facilities were excellent, the bedrooms were cosy and we didn't have any issues with heating or hot water (which can sometimes be a problem with larger properties). There was a nice outdoor area at the back of the house for barbecues and space out front to park (we were four cars). We would highly recommend Doward Farm to anyone looking for a memorable stay in and around Symonds Yat.

Check-in was from 5 til 6pm which is quite late if you want time to settle in and cook a meal. It was also difficult to get hold of the host before our stay but overall we had a great time and would book again!

Use what3words to find the house or you will struggle. Old and lots of character, homely. We had young children, it was lovely not to be worried about what the kids were up to. Great place to play hide and seek. It was a family gathering for my mum’s 80th. The rooms were lovely and big to play games, chat & eat. We made great memories here we will never forget. I was a simple life for 3 nights just what the family needed.

It would be amazing if there could be new baths with shower attachments fitted to the taps. The baths were old been painted and the paint was peeling. The shower attachment for the taps just didn’t work. If this could be sorted I’ve got no other complaints. Yes the carpets could be replaced etc but it does mean you don’t stress regarding children.

Characterful property, spacious and well equipped for a large party. Great location. We were able to walk to Arthur’s caves, Seven Sisters and the Ferry to Symonds Yat from the door.
