Superb staff who made you feel welcome and at home !

Very welcoming!

The staff were exceptionaly friendly, the pub atmosphere was very welcoming and the food was simply delicious. Very accomodating with an early breakfast also. The room was spacious, had everything that I needed and a very comfortable bed.

The staff were amazing, very friendly and warm. We stayed overnight as we had a family 60th celebration that night, so had the breakfast the next morning and the breakfast was lush! Would definetely stay again! The rooms are very cosy

Clean & comfy, friendly staff & a good breakfast.

The room was fine, clean & comfy, we didn't spend much time there as we were just staying after a friends party. Breakfast was good, nice selection and the servers were friendly & chatty. Ample parking outside, no issues.

A bit dated in the rooms, there was a radio playing from upstairs which did sound like it was in our room, must have been standing on something hollow that echoed through, not a serios complaint though, we were heading out early.

Welcoming and friendly overnight stay

We were checked in ok Breakfast tasty Room was large and had the twin beds we requested. Small window so appeared dark however it was hot outside so stayed cooler. Mattress felt a bit lumpy but we did have a comfortable night sleep. Good location as visiting friends in Lydney

Nothing really. More about the noise from our noisy neighbour . Friend said road was noisy but we were in 5 and couldn’t hear it. We had 2 pillows each but were on the thin side.

Great Parking, Lovely looking building and clean.

Over priced. Wifi which is advertised has such a weak signal it cannot be picked up by any device. Room was damp. Electrics were dangerous light switch coming off the wall and bedside lamp broken with exposed wires.

Great space, very welcoming for dogs. Great location with plenty of forest walks and dog friendly adventures nearby.

I had some noisy neighbours who came in early hours and I, unfortunately, was woken with the noise through the walls. The road noise wasn't a bother.

There was no breakfast as we left at 5.30 am a day earlier than planned. we were first given a room that had not been clean, and the replacement was not a lot Better I had guests join me in the evening only to be told you could not get a drink after 10 pm. I have travelled the world and never come across this.

Everything in the bar area you could get 10 people in if you're lucky, nice outdoor space but no good in the winter. no wonder you don't give refunds was constantly overcharged on the bar

great dog friendly spacious ground floor room adjacent to a characterful pub

the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. we loved the room. our dog was made very welcome. comfy bed, spacious room with lovely pine furniture. nothing to dislike.

our only problem was the Mira shower which gave my husband 2 cold showers. I was luckier and had hot ones so ? temperamental. I mentioned it to the landlady so it will be sorted. only a minor point against though and everything else more than made up for this.

It is a nice hotel, with wonderful staff - we had a great time there.

Everything! All the staff were welcoming, friendly but courteous, and very helpful.

If i have to pick something it would be the poor visibility when taking a right turn out of the car park, but I don't think that moving the hotel is a viable option.

Absolutely terrible!!!

My stay here was not a very good one at all!! The food was not very nice at all and the room, wasn’t nice either. There were stains on the bedding and the walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything that next door is saying/doing. My shower didn’t even work. I would never in a million years recommend this hotel!!!

Memorably bad

Our room was ice cold when we arrived at 1am. The radiator was cold and there was no other means of heating. We rang the bell on the side of the pub for help, as specified in the welcome book, but no one responded. We had to sleep with our clothes on and had to wear a woolley hat a to keep warm. We had a terrible night sleep and both had a serious chest infection as a result of breathing in cold air all night. Our advice: ask the manager to confirm that the heating is working before you arrive.

friendly staff, good food and comfortable bed

inconsistent bar/restaurant opening times. breakfast slot was only half an hour between 8.30 and 9 on a Sunday , not open Saturday day for lunch or drinks , Sunday bar closes at 5pm so not that great if you are staying there if you don’t drive you are a little stranded with nothing close for food or glass of wine. We had to order pizza to our room Sunday evening. would have hoped for more as they offer accommodation that they would have more on offer for guests staying Room could do with an update and only had hand wash in the shower no showergel
