We are extremely disappointed with our experience with the director of the Ty Belgrave accommodation.We had booked the Ty Belgrave accommodation and were scheduled to arrive at 3pm.While we were still on the road around 1pm, the director called and informed us that the accommodation was occupied and offered us a single-family room in a hotel with breakfast instead.Due to poor internet connection, communication was difficult, so we agreed to discuss the situation upon our arrival.Just for information Ty Belgrave accommodation is self-catering with sea view.Upon arriving at the Four Seasons Hotel, as been told by manager, we met with the director, who also manages both the Ty Belgrave accommodation and the hotel. He informed us that only one single room on the second floor was available.By the time we arrived, it was already 5pm, and we had a dinner reservation for 7pm to celebrate our daughter’s birthday To avoid spoiling the mood, we decided to inspect the room.To get to that room you need to go lot of stairs because the room was in a loft. The door could not open fully due to the sloped ceiling, and the room itself was very small.Considering we were traveling with our 16-year-old dog, who is ill and barely able to walk, as well as our children aged 17 and 22, it was extremely cramped for four people.Despite being offered a so-called “family room,” it was entirely inadequate for our needs.We refused the room, then we been offered a significantly larger room on the ground floor, even he had said that there was just 1 option available.The director promised a £50 compensation, although in my opinion, at least half of the cost should have been refunded given that the experience ruined our birthday celebration.The room was uncomfortable for four people. Breakfast was ok with limited options, and ultimately, the promised compensation was never provided.In conclusion,the manager was dishonest,and this experience was extremely disappointing.I cannot recommend booking it.

Fantastic, modern and clean

Great location with stunning views! I was expecting something pretty basic but this place was very tidy and modern. The kids loved that there was a dessert caravan right outside! Parking was not an issue.

The stairs weren't fun with 4 large suitcases! But the view made it worth it.

Absolutely no communication beforehand in how to access the property. We arrived in peak hour, parked illegally and had to message before being given directions to collect the keys from another property.

We were moved to a different accommodation which was a very picturesque building, very quiet, cleans and spacious.

We would have been better trying to sleep on the beach….

Location, and size - well equipped - a pity we couldn’t enjoy it because of the radiator noise and vibration.

The radiator made a terrible racket every 20 minutes or so for 5 minutes - we could not sleep nor relax. - we tried to turn it off but couldn’t. We didn’t receive any communication about how to get into the property - had to chase this once we arrived. The double bed downstairs needs a new mattress, and the pillows are flat

A great place in west Wales.

The apartment was really spacious and the location was fabulous. The view from the front room was beautiful and watching the sunset each night was a highlight.Aberystwyth was a great place from which to explore the surrounding area.

Nice apartment but 4th floor, parking not as described, dogs not allowed on beach.

Lovely accomodation but...

Parking was not as described. Street parking is limited to 1 or 4 hours and no return. We received no information about collecting keys. The booking.com pin was not relevant and there was no key save. We had to call the contact number and discovered that we had to collect the keys 2 blocks away from the accomodation. Our flat was on the 4th floor! We are in our seventies with a dog, and we had to park quite a long way away and carry luggage up to the fourth floor while holding the dog. Had we known this, we would never have booked this accomodation.

Amazing location

Great location less than a minute to sea, shops, restaurants. Beautiful views. Very comfortable beds. Very clean bedding and towels. Plenty of room for four adults, two bathrooms is a real plus. Great mirrors in bathroom with lights and magnifier.

No response to messages sent to property, so had to ring them about check in. You have to go to a hotel a few minutes away to collect keys. All toiletry dispensers in bathrooms were empty. Floors could have been cleaned more thoroughly.

Incredible house with breathtaking views

On arrival we were upgraded to groverners house which had an amazing view of the sea front. It was so spacious and clean and felt homely.

Location is great. Perfect view of the beach. Property is a good size and comfortable for a short stay

Room allocation with this host is pot luck. Twice I’ve booked a particular property with them - either through booking.com or air bnb - and both times the key offered on arrival has been for a different place. Not the one I’d seen online / thought I’d booked / agreed the advertised price for based on the online info provided. We also found a dead sparrow (fresh) under the sofa. It had obviously flown in an open window before we arrived. Possibly after the cleaners had visited as the property was clean otherwise

Was missing some of the finer touches - took a while to find the hand soaps, tea towel etc. There was no washing up bowl and not enough hand towels for each of the toilets. A folder with basic instructions might have been useful.

Upon arrival we were told that we were in a two bed although we had booked and paid for a 3 bed due to needing the extra room for the children. I was told that I had asked for a two bed as I had rang ahead to double check we were staying at the accommodation booked due to a previous review. Of course that was not the case and after going back and fourth was told we could have the 3 bed the following day, not the best start however they refunded £30 for that night and gave a bottle of prosecco for the inconvenience. Things to note the check in is at the four seasons this is where you pick up your keys and will be shown to the accommodation which is only around the corner. There is no parking at all and when it says nearby it's a good 15 minutes walk away. You can park outside for only 1 hour at a time many people get tickets. The accommodation is as shown in the pictures and can't fault that very roomy and great facilities in the 3 bed there are stairs with two rooms being in a basement but that was absolutely fine for us. Again in the 3 bed the jacuzzi bath does not work however does the job as a standard bath. The hot tub is a communal one that can be accessed from the 3 bed but from the other accommodation will have to be accessed separately. The two bed or apartment 2 was fantastic lovely and clean, great bathrooms and bedrooms with brilliant views of the beach and would definitely reccomend choosing this one. Overall we loved our stay and would go back.

Poor - Did not stay here, was moved to another apartment!

We did not stay in this property we were moved to an apartment at the Marine hotel which we were told was an upgrade. It was definitely not an upgrade and is not what I would book or stay in, we were in the basement and the property was nowhere near what I had booked. I have emailed Booking.com customer services to request compensation / refund but have not yet received a response!
