INN Plus Toji Kindo

The place was very charming and spacious compared to normal hotel rooms. The two single beds and two futons in the adjoing tatami room in the second floor were especially a welcome change from the usual 13-17 sqm rooms in Japan.

The place is a bit challenging to find by taxi the first time around but a neighbor helped us. One needs to walk a little further to find places to eat and to shop in a supermarket. Nevertheless we loved walking around.

The house was even smaller than we thought, but totally enough space for 3 people to be comfortable (maybe a bit cramped for 4 people). Very charming and typical Japanese. Everything necessary, all perfectly clean, functioning and easy to use. 2 super comfy single beds, + futons as needed. The bath tub is gorgeous and so comfortable! I took so many baths! 2 bicycles provided. Very quiet neighborhood. About 15 min walk from Kyoto train station (5 min by bicycle), but various stops for the very convenient tourist City Buses (such as the Toji temple bus stop) are even closer.

Can sleep up to 4 people, but only 2 bicycles are provided, so we didn't really use them (but it didn't really matter, we used the bus and train a lot). No storage space for food outside of the fridge, we just piled our snacks on the table or the floor. Steep stairs to bedrooms -- not a problem for me, but can be hard on elderly or disabled people, and my mother struggled because she is left-handed and couldn't hold on to the wall when going down while holding things in her left hand. 😂 😂 😂

I loved that they provided bicycles along with our stay at this property. We cycled everywhere! What a great way to experience Kyoto!

Nice quiet location. The property has everything you need.
