Fantastic Hotel

The hotel is in a great location. Close to the city centre and everything that Dublin has to offer. The hotel room was bright and airy and offered a good view of Smithfield. It was clean and the 2 separate, (larger than a normal sized single bed) beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with lots of choices and food replenished regularly.

Not worth the price despite good location

Pros: Good location, close to the main attractions and easy to get around Good breakfast with nice variety, available early in the morning Late check-in available, which was very convenient

Cons: Unstable heating: the room was cold on arrival, took almost a day to warm up, and the temperature reset after leaving the room Large windows but none could be opened, so there was no fresh air Cleaning was supposed to come after 6pm one day but did not arrive No toilet cleaning brush in the bathroom Shower head leaking water Bathroom wall paint was peeling Dark room - the light was quite dim especially on one side of the room Small table - no space for a laptop. If you needed to work, you had to stand up and use the counter under the TV (no tall chair available) Overall: Despite the good location and breakfast, the numerous comfort, maintenance, and service issues made the stay disappointing and not worth the price paid.

This hotel is very well located! The room was clean and breakfast inclusion was much appreciated.

Great location, uncomfortable beds

Great location. Near temple bar and not far from guiness store house. Quiet location and great breakfast choice in the morning.

Bed was uncomfortable giving bad backs to myself and partner. Also pillows were too squishy and uncomfortable to sleep on. A firm pillow option should be available within the room for pillow preference of the guests as other hotels offer.

Very nice hotel and very close to the city center and the sights. Polite staff and clean rooms . Excellent breakfast. Small deposit upon entry and immediate refund upon departure.

The only negatives were that it didn't have disposable slippers and a wardrobe. Instead of a wardrobe, it has a handle to hang a few clothes but it is not very convenient.

Fabulous rooms. Spotless . Excellent location . Right beside luas. Breakfast with very all over the place.

Good location - About 15 min walk to the city. Basic hotel but good for what you need it for and the price also!

Beds weren’t comfy at all, and the hotel itself is too small for the capacity of guest it takes. Breakfast was way too busy. Didn’t get a chance to get coffee at the buffet breakfast because the que for the machines were way too long.

I liked that the room was very comfortable, and clean, and the location is right beside the luas stop which was great, the breakfasts where amazing also.

When we first got to the hotel, I just wanted to get into my room ASAP with as little fuss as possible. Unfortunately the girl at reception was on a go slow for whatever reason and also seemed to be affronted by my appearance by tge look on her face, i was dressed in a t shirt and jeans for comfort for the flight i was to go on and dishevelled from dragging large suitcases around dublin all day, I was also extremely flustered when i arrived. It got to the point where I said look " I've just been turned away from flights we have booked to the usa, I'm waiting for confirmation of new visas and right now i literally want to break down and cry. I need to get to my room so I can do that". After that she said she was sorry so hear this and picked up the pace of check in. I had stayed in this hotel in June and I had a great experience and the check in was normal and quick enough, id stayed in the ashling the night before and their check in was fast enough and pleasant. This girl seemed to pick up the pace to go on her go slow, and finally got me checked in. Normally im really easy going and i would have written this encounter off but it was a very bad and exceptionally stressful day for me and I could have done without it.

Excellent hotel in fantastic location.

Clean, comfortable, very quiet room. I asked for a room on high floor away from elevator and was given one which was in perfect location. Communication with hotel before our stay was excellent. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and suited us. Bathroom was exceptionally clean with very strong shower. Large thick towels. Having a fridge in room was a bonus. Excellent choice of breakfast foods. All staff were helpful, pleasant and welcoming. Aidan on front of house duties is a real asset to the hotel. The hotel is located within about 20 metres of a LUAS stop so it was really easy to get about and it is within about a 15 to 20 minutes walk of centre of city attractions. I would highly recommend this hotel either for a short stay or as we did, for a full week.

Disappointing

Location

Staff didn’t tell us breakfast closed at 10 during the week so my pregnant wife missed it. Reception said we should have been told (but we weren’t). We sent an email to complain and got ignored. Will not be staying at the Hilton again

Great location, good solid hotel, wish the beds were better

The breakfast was way better than ones provided at Hampton Inns in the US. It is on par with breakfasts in Ireland, with the full Irish Breakfast composition: eggs, back bacon, sausage, black and white pudding, and beans. The only complaint was the black and white pudding were dry. Two automatic espresso/latte machines were available -- too bad I gave up on coffee and only drink tea nowadays. Fresh fruit, cold cuts and cheese were also offered, as well as continental breakfast items such as breads, muffins, oatmeal, cereal, etc. The hotel seems to be pretty new and the rooms were modern. The hotel is in a great location near the Four Courts red line tram stop. It's quiet there and only a 10 min walk to Temple Bar.

The rooms were pretty small, on par with boutique hotels, like at The Dean, for example. But those offer pretty good common areas and bars, whereas Hampton Inn just has a large lobby and breakfast area. They do serve alcohol as an extension of the front desk. The beds were very stiff. Not really firm as in good beds, but stiff as in not so great spring mattresses with thin padding. Also, I booked a queen room but was given a room with two twin beds. It was a last minute booking and I just needed a place to sleep before my flight the next day, so I didn't mind too much other than the bed being uncomfortable.

Great hotel, great staff, great stay. Can't ask for better.

The hotel was absolutely spotless. Our room was immaculate, well proportioned and beds were so comfortable. All the toiletries we needed were supplied and were gorgeous. Staff were brilliant. Friendly and chatty. They all went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Housekeeping staff were lovely as well. Breakfast buffet had everything you could possibly want, even a waffle maker! Can't praise the hotel or the staff highly enough. Luas stop is right in front of the hotel so you're close to everything.

Hotel whose equipment, roomsize and breakfast are not in proportion to the price

We stayed 2 nights in the hotel (24 and 30 july) 1) Parking: the staff does not explain anything about parking in the street while it is very simple: you can park during maximum 3 hours just till 7 p.m. at 4€ per hour. Free parking from 7 p.m. till 9 a.m. You don’t have to get up at 9 a.m., the evening before you pay from 9 a.m. for maximum 3 hours. 2) Room and flatscreen television: I don’t understand that a hotel at this price has not a television with Netflix access! On 24/7 we tryed to connect our chromecast, we did’t succeed. The staff promised to give us on 30/7 a room where someone from the technical department could connect the device. On arrival at 30/7 no one knew anything, this was impossible and they belittled us for asking! In addition, we had to pay twice a deposit of 50€ while the first was still active. 3) Breakfast is mediocre (overcooked eggs) compared to the price of the hotel.

The location in Dublin was central and it was easy to get around on foot or public transportation. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was a good size and was well equipped - tea kettle, fridge, etc.

It was a bit pricier than similar properties in different places.

Very pleasant hotel and everything well organized.

Fantastic breakfast buffet. The hotel is quite central and close to bus stops. Luas (the tram) just outside the hotel. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.

I had forgotten my electrical adapter, but the hotel sold them for €6. I suggest a deposit for the use of an adapter instead. Most people will probably keep it anyway.
