Great family stay.

We had a lovely stay at hilber cottage, good location 10 min walk to the town. Plenty of room for all the family. Everything was clean & comfortable, beds where super comfy.

we were disappointed by the lack of thorough cleaning before our stay, and the presence of ants in the kitchen. although

spacious living room and bedrooms. nice location

not clean on arrival and there were lots of ants on and around the kitchen table when we first got in. we kept all surfaces as clean as possible but they kept returning. kitchen could have been better equipped

Good location but don't expect any help when problems arise

Good location, walking distance to the town centre.

It snowed during the second night at which time the boiler went faulty. Called several contact numbers to get in touch with host, all of which went to a recorded voice message to say the offices were closed. Had to leave a day earlier than planned due to travelling with children and having no heating or hot water the property was no longer fit for purpose. Reported the fault the next working day to be told I didn't let it ring for long enough when initially trying to report the issue, despite me trying to explain to the company that the call did not ring - it was an out of hours recording, so how could I let it ring for longer?? All in all, waste of space to deal with the host / company so would NOT stay here again for fear of more problems arising and getting zilch in the way of assistance.

Superb

Location was lovely. Outside the cottage you could hear the waterfalls, which encouraged us to go exploring to find it. Spacious cottage, good size living space, which was ideal as it was a group of us staying. It's only a short walk into Ambleside, but bare in mind it's a fairly steep walk back up the hill to the cottage. We befriended some of the horses in the field across the road too.

Cosey cottage in the countryside, with a short walk to town

Fantastic location, just a 10 minute walk from town. Perfect rural area onlooking a farm with lots of sheep/horses! The living areas were spacious with lovely decor, alongside everything you’d need in a cottage. Beds were comfy and lovely warm carpeted floors made it nice and cosey. I would definitely come back!

The only thing I can think of is the walk from town was quite uphill and with shopping it can be a bit or a chore. Also some of the ceiling lights/doorframes are a-little low, so for someone like myself who is 6ft 2, I had to be careful at times.
