For something a bit different to the classic Devon cottage, stay in this converted seventeenth-century boathouse. The interior has been decorated in an industrial loft style, and high-end furnishings have been used throughout, from the basalt floors to the luxury bath, Bulthaup B2 kitchen and Bisazza bathroom walls. With the River Exe just across the road, it's ideally located to go for a wander along the water's edge, stopping for a pint in a cosy pub, or you can walk into the historic town of Topsham for a meal at one of its celebrated restaurants.
