Good location

Location, tidy and smell of the property

No hot water for the first night and following day, struggled to lock balcony door, no channels on TV and was worried about the deposit all weekend but was released not long after

Terrible hosts who cancelled the booking mid way of the stay without even discussing with the guest.

First looks impressive but as you stay you find so many issues and basic infra missing.

Absolutely terrible host - Lorraine. Firstly there were numerous issues in the apt - balcony door, freezer issues, wifi extremely slow, no shampoo / soap provided, cutlery / towels minimal, extra quilt requested and even on request not provided. Then suddenly there was a geyser problem and the host went ahead and cancelled our booking mid stay without even discussing with us. Basic courtesy demands you discuss the issue with the guest, however never heard that the host cancels the booking midway without even discussing with the guest. Booking.com should not allow such properties on their site where hosts are hostile and even lack basic courtesy !!

Amazing location property that could just do with a little TLC to keep it up to spec!!

Location was fantastic only a short walk along peaceful river to city centre.

Feel could do with a deep clean. Toilet just needed some bleach to bring it back to life! All kitchen equipment needed a clean before use. There were a couple of missing slats in door blinds, so woken up to sun shining in face every morning unless the curtains were shut too!

It was dirty- dirt all over the doors and the skirting boards were filthy! - all the cabinets had handfuls of dust on them! The balcony was dirty and the cushions were mouldy! The carpet looked as if it had never been hoovered before

Balcony not cleaned. Cushions in box wet. Clothes found in one of the drawers and a durex in wrapper down the side of the settee. Wrong pin for key box from booking.com

unsecure therefore dangerous

I stayed at locket apartment from 16th-18th February this year. I wish to inform you that I was extremely dissatisfied with what I purchased. The patio doors onto the balcony did not lock-causing extreme anxiety at night and leaving me unable to leave anything of any value during the day. The patio cushions are left constantly exposed to rain making them unusable and there is an exposed soil pipe which is taped up at the bottom. Inside the lights do not work on one half of the ceiling. The TV was not a good reception and there were extremely limited channels to watch. The fact that the light switch in the bathroom was exposed to wet and damp was also concerning. The front door lock was partially unscrewed and awkward to lock and unlock and upon leaving I was almost locked in. It is a shame you have not rectified theses matters as it is conveniently close to all attractions in York, I had paid a lot to travel there and could not waste my valuable time having to possibly wait for a member of your maintenance team. I Hope you sort this out as I notice there are many reviews where these issues have been raised before. Sadly disappointing

A lovely studio let down by dreadful bed/mattress and poor maintenance issues

Location was perfect, a lovely 15 minute walk into town Ali g the River. Peaceful and quiet at night

Noisy uncomfortable bed. The mattress is terrible, thin, no support, springs digging in your back all night, had no sleep for 3 night which ruined the trip. Quilt is flimsy and thin. 2 broken slats in the patio door blinds, sun shining through in the early hours. lots of downlighter bulbs need replacing. food left in fridge from previous guests. Attention to detail relating to cleanliness and maintenance is lacking.

It was in a great location, very quiet area.

The 3 missing wooden slats from the doors leading to the balcony. The sunlight in the morning was in our eye line from waking up also feel that people from the other balcony could see in. Spot lights over kitchen side didn't work only had lights from bedroom side or lights under from kitchen cabinets.

Bright and airy, modern with good amenities. Nice walk along the river into the centre. Sainsbury very close, 3 mins. Number 7 bus takes you straight to Train Station.

Door to balcony very hard to open and close so i was afraid to open it again incase I couldn't close it. 3 slats missing in the door as well. A little too far from the centre for us.

the location was amazing, close to the town and near the river. enjoyed walking back and forth for the days we were here

the bed creaked, and seemed unstable. the sofa bed was uncomfortable, and ended up watching tv on the bed instead. some of the slats in the door blinds had come off so would wake up to light in your eyes

Lovely, comfortable apartment.

Bit of confusion about how to get in but this was resolved fairly quickly. Just be aware that parking is classed as 'free nearby' the road the apartment is on is 'permit only' we didn't see any available parking that close.

Weekend stay

Location was great 20 min walk into town nice stroll to the river ouze.

Cleanliness wasnt great, some attention needed to door shutters, marks on the bedding & throws also bed was very uncomfortable and noisy everytime you turned over.

great location for the centre,nice size for staying alone,communal area’s quiet and clean

The cleaning standard left a lot to be desired especially as you charge a fee for this,the bed is also very squeaky and not very comfortable,could also do with better pillows and a warmer quilt for the winter months

location was great - loved the cafe down the street. fresh modern decor. would definitely re book (got 1 nights stay to use next year) thanks to the hospitality of the owners.

if I had to advice on any improvements, then I’d say the bed could do with being changed. not the most comfortable and feels old compared to the rest of the apartment.

Good apartment in a smashing spot just needs a bit of TLC

On the whole the apartment was good,20minute walk along the river into town .Had to get in touch with host as we couldn’t find the code for the WiFi or the cafetière .The host did kindly bring a cafetière and tried to explain the WiFi but we still couldn’t get on to it.There are a couple of cafes near by for breakfast and Sainsbury’s at the top of the road to buy essentials.

Toilet looks like it needs a good clean and some of the lights in the sitting area don’t work.Couple of blinds broken on doors to balcony

The bed was slanted, felt like it was broken. Everything just felt cheap, door to water tank in the bathroom would t close, dirty glasses and dishes. dirty balcony pillows for the seati.

A very nice property, had everything we needed to make the stay comfortable. Would use again.

There are missing slats in the window shutters which could do with being mended as I quite like a dark room when going to sleep in - or to prevent the sun from shining into the room at 6am in the morning. One bug bear I did have with the property was the seating on the terrace. The terrace was one of the reasons why I booked the place but sadly was unable to sit outside. It had been raining before our arrival and all the seating pads had been left outside in the rain. There is a storage box outside on the terrace which could be used to store them in but there was no lid to prevent them from getting wetter. I really do think this issue needs sorting ASAP- I deducted two stars from my rating for this point alone. However, if this point is sorted then I give the place a full 10 stars because it was a great place to stay in.

It was a really nice stay

The room was very nice and comfortable overall. The decor was nice and bright. It was lovely to have a balcony. It was in a good location which was useful. The room was very clean overall. The host was so kind and friendly and made the stay even better as she tried to improve our experience.

The bed was absolutely terrible. The host was informed and she did her best to make the stay as comfortable as possible. But the mattress was uncomfortable to sleep on. The room also had a slight damp smell. But the host also helped with this.

Nice spot near york city centre

Loved the location, the peace and quiet where we stayed considering being 5 minutes from the centre of York was ideal after a busy day! Not sure where the complaints about the bed come from, we both found it very comfortable. Plenty of sockets around the apartment too.
