Very different and unique

Such a pretty place. We enjoyed a very relaxed evening after a long driving day. The calm of the water and surroundings was very much welcome. This location was excellent for our trip to Giverny the following day.

The location of the Moulin de Fourges is idyllic, next to the river, with a turning water mill wheel, and very pretty. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us when our car broke down one evening. As we were too late to have dinner at the restaurant by the time the issue with the car had been resolved, they left specially-prepared salads in our room for our return. The room (a prestige room) was large and well furnished, with both a bath and walk-in shower, and very efficient air conditioning, which was wonderful during a heatwave. It was also easy to drive into Giverny to visit Monet's house and garden from the Moulin.

Serine and quiet location . Beautiful old buildings. Although the menu was basic, the food was very nice, and the restaurant pleasant as was the staff.

Not sure if my message was taken into consideration, I requested twin beds and we got a double. To top it up we were given a room on the thirty floor. My friend and I are 76 yrs old and although we’re fairly fit, the stairs taking us to our room made it difficult after a full day of visiting. (Just wondering if the information given when signing up with booking.com eg. age of customers, is available to the hosts). I did bring it to the attention at reception and they did offer another room. We declined as we had already unpacked our bags.
