Our stay was very relaxing and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the chalet, it was perfect.

The chalet was located in ther perfect spot for local amenities with beaches, pubs, restaurants and scenic walks no more than 5 minutes drive away.

Comfortable stay

The front door was open. We were then met by the host Noreen who was very welcoming. The property is well stocked with all essentials for your stay and Noreen supplies additional items which are normally not included eg tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter etc.

Initially we couldn’t find the property as it is out of view from the road and the sign for Primrose cottage was lying on the roadway. I think the listing needs to be clearer that the property is actually an outbuilding in the owners garden and not strictly a cottage in its own private grounds. The property is overlooked by the main cottage and at the rear by another property. There is no privacy.

Super relaxing and great base accommodation with all that our family needed - very relaxing

Generous, comfortable and clean accommodation, good value for money and was accessible to lots of places to visit like Glenveagh National Park, great scenery and lovely beaches. Host was a lovely lady and so kind - left lots of treats for our 3-day stay.

Peaceful, but I was there to learn Gaeilge so it was also hard work!

Lovely to be met by Noreen, the host and to find she had laid a fire for me. Noreen is super friendly and ready to help you with anything.

This is such a beautiful part of the world, it’s a shame there wasn’t much of a view. But the wee house made up for it with its coziness.

Outstanding value

An ideal base for our trip to Gweedore. Noreen's hospitality is second to none. We arrived to a lovely warm welcome, fire lit and kettle boiled. The place was lovely and cosy and absolutely spotless. Well within walking distance to shops, pubs and beaches.

Disappointing

The bedrooms were clean and beds were comfortable.

The property is more of an annexe to the main (Granny flat) than a cottage. The external grounds were messy and unkempt. On walking into the property, we were met with an overwhelming stench of bleach. The open-plan living area is very dated and worn. Kitchen cupboards are poorly fitted, with one cupboard fitted above the oven hob, which has been damaged by the heat. Major fire hazard. The fridge had a carton of milk, which was more like a carton of cheese. The bathroom requires updating, and the shower was dirty, and the shower unit leaked. The smoke alarm had no battery in it and there is no carbon monoxide alarm, fire blanket, extinguisher in the property, with only one way in and out.

A handy location with a good supermarket, bar and restaurant less than 5 minutes walk away.

Very welcoming and friendly host and a very relaxed environment. We travelled with our 4 year old son and he was very happy with the place. There is a even a playpark less than 5 minutes away. This place makes a good base for exploring the coast of Donegal.

Exceptional

Primrose Cottage was perfect for our family stay. It is listed as a one bed property, but actually had two double bedrooms, so lots of room. The cottage was really cosy, and the host was so friendly and generous. An added bonus, the property was a 5 minute drive from a really beautiful, unspoilt beach. Would definitely recommend for a short stay.

Cottage warm warm and cosy, bread, milk and tea we're left for us upon arrival. Friendly Noreen was there too, restaurants and guides available for us also.

Only complaint was the bathroom wasn't as clean as expected.

Relaxing

Everything was fantastic. I had 2 young children with me and it really suited our needs. Lovely long garden beside the property for kids to run up and down and host was very accommodating with everything. I wasn't sure how to light the fire which she was happy to do for me and left coal and turf available so I didn't have to ask. Love that it had a washing machine. The shower was great had good pressure. We had a brilliant time.

Primrose cottage is absolutely beautiful. It's in a great location in gorgeous Gweedore, it's so cosy, clean and comfortable. Noreen is a fabulous hostess, very kind, helpful and she had the fire lit for us arriving, a huge bonus! She shared her knowledge of the local area and directed us to the most beautiful places. We had a fantastic stay at Primrose Cottage and we can't wait to return again soon.

Beautiful home in a really beautiful location. Just minutes away from beautiful beaches. We took ferry across to Gola Island which is just stunning. Must be the most beautiful scenery in the world. Great choice of quality restaurants nearby.
