Gweedore Seaview Cottage

This place is such a gem. Such a warm welcome, host kept in great contact before coming giving us great advice on how to enjoy the local area. Space very clean, warm and lovely Irish countryside touches of a stove with fresh peat, a stunning view from living room and within easy reach of pubs with amazing food. Hosts are very approachable and genuinely care about you having the best experience in their area which has such a unique charm and wonderful community spirit. So whether it's a gorgeous meal followed by a bit of impromptu set dancing on a Tuesday night at teac jacks or a visit to Tory island, this place in right in the middle of loads of options. Would like to keep it a secret just for us but they're doing such a great job would be unfair not to tell you all!

The view is outstanding. Absolutely spectacular. On the first morning there was an Irish Hare a few metres away from my bedroom window. Everything that we needed was provided. Beds were comfortable. We will definitely be back for a longer period. There's an electric cooker which is fantastic, an airfryer, pots & pans, a kettle and toaster. We had our own cutlery with us but there was some there. Towels, bedlinen and toilet roll/kitchen roll was provided. There was some butter left from perhaps previous guests but again we brought everything as it is self catering. The hosts dogs are friendly and come for an occasional nosey but they got on well with my two labradors. Lovely personal touches of artwork on the walls. We felt very safe throughout our stay, the key is left on the table for arrival which is rare nowadays. There is guest information and books to read with local takeaway menus. You really do have everything you need, just bring groceries and enjoy the uninterrupted peace and tranquility with that amazing view.

Asking me what I didnt like is difficult because there was nothing I didnt like, however on the first day there was a very strong damp smell, perhaps it was the old turf but after cooking and opening all the windows it had left by the following day.

The house was great, very clean and comfortable and the hosts provided everything we could possibly need. We also really enjoyed the location, very scenic with plenty to do and see. Thank you, great hosts!
