Spacious, scenic accommodation

The house was large, the sauna was nice, lovely Views. Everything was simple and owner was friendly.

The house was hard to heat, but then again it is Donegal in January. If you are traveling on a tight budget, the electricity meter might come as a bad surprise. We had to pay around 10 euro a day to have it running. Probably not an issue for most people and it would be less in warmer weather...

Brilliant house and cracking location, we will definitely be back

Perfect location and sea views all round, Sauna is brilliant and rooms are big. Bed are very comfortable and house is a good size

Paying for electric but it was expected, cost us about 20 euro per day because it was cold that week so had to keep the radiators on

Great location and space for a group of friends but the property needs a bit more care and maintenance

The location and view is stunning. The beds and linen were crisp and clean. Lovely large white towels. Friendly owner. Friendly neighbourly dogs. Nice open fire. Lovely sunroom with great views. Value for money. Good parking

With a little more care this property could be 5 star. However the pots and pans need replaced. One is very dangerous with a spinning handle. There was only 1 tea towel and no dishcloth, just one grubby sponge scrub. No basics like salt and pepper. The main bathroom needs updated and a bath mat for safety. The patio doors don’t open and need maintenance. Coats hooks would be useful

Absolutely fabulous stay with my family in May 2025. The location is idillic and so peaceful. The house has everything you need for a brilliant family stay. We loved being so close to the water and a short drive to restaurants, beaches and bars.

The place needs a lot of TLC. The house smelled of damp and wet dog- carpet throughout a pet friendly place is not very hygienic. Listing photos are not accurate of the current state of facilities.

Fabulous few days away!

Location was super, fabulous views from the cottage. We enjoyed being able to walk our dogs round Island Roy, and the beautiful beaches in Downings close by. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

I have stayed here many times and location is superb. My grandson loved the sauna he’s 17 and thought this was great. Pets are welcome and my dogs love the beach which is a short distance away.

Amazing views, peaceful location and excellent value for money.

The location of the property is absolutely fantastic. The views are incredible - being surrounded by water with views of the mountains - is exceptional. It's such a peaceful location, yet quick and easy to get to all the places we needed to. I love the bedroom layouts which provided flexibility for the family. The kitchen had everything we needed. The host was excellent - very good communication and it was easy to find the property and enter it. Some may say the property is a little dated and needs some work. I'd say, it's amazing value for money so is to be expected. I'd definitely stay again.

A Peaceful,relaxing haven on a tiny island in Donegal.

The view from the house was beautiful. So peaceful. It’s a lovely walk into Downings but also a quick drive. No complaints whatsoever. Paddy popped in to say hello. The dogs absolutely loved it. Opened the door and they could be free and enjoy the sea at times also. Beautiful stay for a peaceful getaway with the family.

Disappointing compared to what was expecting

Location was nice

Had to pay for electric using a meter which was a rip off. No central heating just electric heating which was very expensive. No smart TV so limited channels to watch. There was paint coming away from lots of the walls which was disappointing. House feels very dated. Could do with a refurb inside.

Restful retreat

set on an beautiful little island this holiday let was perfect for a peaceful break to recharge the batteries. The house was clean and comfortable and is a short car journey to Downings Main Street where pubs and eateries can be found. The area has lots of things to do from beautiful sandy beaches to horse riding and an alpaca farm. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days here and will definitely come back again in the summer.
