Butterfly Lodge

Directions for entry and key collection was very clear and adequate, the lodge was everything we were looking for. One of our favourite things was the closed porch that was facing the lake. Having our dog (Labrador mix) with us this was essential, as much as she is well behaved this gave us both piece of mind to relax. My partner was fishing in the lake and I did not have to pay attention if our dog was somewhere she shouldn't be. Another highlight for us was the bird and squirrels right outside the living room, all three of us were fascinated by this and spent quite some time watching the wildlife. Another point that was pretty good was the lodge is walking distance both to Lincoln and the other direction to a village pub. There is walking paths behind trees next to the road in both directions, but also there is taxi companies happy to pick you up at the front entrance (some of them allows dogs too!).

It was hard to get in contact with the owners before we went on our trip, this was mostly because my partner wanted to know about the fishing conditions on site, but we had to find out ourselves after arrival instead as there was no response (and we contacted them a few weeks before our stay to enquire).

It was spacious and very clean. The location was great and it was very comfortable. Plenty of parking for our cars. The amenities were spot on and it was a relaxing place, especially the view.

Unable to control the heating, we were cold. The hot tub bubbles didn’t work properly so it was just a warm water tub. Neighbouring property full of rude people.

Needs a redo on kitchen equipment all old and no Pyrex or casserole dishes

This was spot on accommodation for a little breakaway celebrating a special birthday. It was like home from home and having Christmas decorations up made it all the more special

Couldn’t think of anything to improve further it was fantastic.
