Boutique 2BR On Royal Mile - Freestanding Bathtub

The apartment is just off the Royal Mile which is a great location. The furnishings are good and the kitchen is modern and well equipped. The beds are big and we found them very comfortable. There's a speaker system in all the rooms which is a touch of luxury. The shower works well and there was plenty of hot water. Tea and coffee were provided, also milk sachets and biscuits on arrival. There were plenty of cleaning materials. The top floor location means that there is a lot of natural light from roof windows. The host was readily available on WhatsApp to answer any questions and was a pleasure to deal with.

Access to the apartment is via an alleyway containing restaurant food bins which in the warmer weather was unpleasant but it's only a short walk. There are a lot of old and worn stone steps to the apartment which is on the top floor. This would be a problem for some people with limited mobility. The Internet was patchy during our stay which rendered the TVs not really operational as they rely on wifi. The owner was advised and they were going to contact the provider. Care must be taken with the bathroom washbasin not to run water quickly as it soon overflows onto the floor. Being picky, there are signs of wear and tear that could be addressed, replacing the silicone round the shower area and touching up the paintwork here and there. There are quite a few cracked floor tiles in the kitchen/ living area but I appreciate that this would be a big job to rectify. It was cold one night and we found that two of the radiators didn't work.

We stayed here when getting married in Edinburgh and after being let down by another property, the hosts stepped up and helped us out massively to save the day. The property was in a great location just off the royal mile, close to shops, restaurants and bars. The property itself was clean and very comfortable, with great facilities.

Not really a negative as not a problem for us, but carrying lots of luggage up the stairs to the property could be hard work. This is countered by the fact that you're away from lots of noise at street level though.

Location and check in was fantastic. Easy to locate the building and enter. Had everything you'd need for a few days in the city. We were very happy with this apartment.

Steps up to the apartment are something to be aware of if someone has mobility issues but every building had steps and stairs in Edinburgh. The bathroom sink is inclined to splash water out so just turn the tap on slowly to avoid water jumping out of the sink.

On the Royal Mile off a filthy alley

Filthy alley, trash, rats, and open Air drug use. Then walk up dirty stairs four flights to the nice unit. Wet bathroom- impractical sink, splattering shower. Only one fan despite two bedrooms. Don’t ask for a second fan or the rude property manager will tell you to leave if you don’t like it.
