Old New Inn, Llanfyllin

The staff are amazing, so welcoming and helpful, and a good laugh. We will definitely go back just for the staff. And for the breakfast. It was freshly cooked as you arrived. Piping hot and should you need anything more there isn't a problem. The choice is cereal OR cooked full breakfast, but the cereal wasn't needed and it meant we enjoyed the breakie even more without filling up on cereal before. Placed right in the heart of the village, there were places to eat and drink, as well as great food at the Inn. There is a lovely cafe in the square : "Something Tasty" with healthy food and lovely smoothies. The bedroom and bathroom were lovely and clean and the bed was comfy.

We had a lovely stay and are already looking forward to returning! The highlight was definitely the bar—we really enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere and the incredibly friendly service from the staff. As a helpful tip for future travelers, the rooms are up two flights of stairs. While they weren't too difficult to manage, anyone with mobility difficulties might want to request a lower floor or plan their day to limit trips up and down, like we did. To help the hotel truly shine, a bit more attention to deep cleaning in the seating areas—specifically dusting under the tables—would perfectly match the otherwise high standards of the property. Deep cleaning these customer-facing areas and establishing a nightly wipe-down routine would instantly improve the atmosphere and reassure guests about hygiene.

A very traditional inn - the building is obviously very old but quaint. Everything had a friendly and personal touch - breakfast was individually cooked for example.

Cooked breakfast was excellent - freshly cooked and tasty. No cereals offered. The pub has recently changed hands and probably a steep learning curve for the proprietors.

People need to be warned that the staircase is steep.
