There was a place called Pando to buy breakfast, a few steps away. And the train station was close, that was good for me.
I’m still confused by this whole business of using telephones to do everything.
I don’t think there was a good way to get natural daylight in the room without letting cold air in.

I saw through an open door that some rooms had large windows and a balcony. Location was near Atocha.
My window opened onto a surface where a person could enter; it did not lock and felt unsafe. Some other windows opening onto the surface had metal grids for safety.
