Ripon Street Lincoln

Good location, convenient to town centre and station, reasonably close to castle. Room clean and comfortable, kitchen well supplied and host delightful.

Great location for city centre. A very homely property, like staying with friends where the welcome is good and the facilities are like being at home

The highlight of my stay was without doubt spending time with the host(s), who couldn't have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful. Their knowledge of the local area is also worth it's weight in gold, especially if you are new to Lincoln. Located in the city centre the property is well placed within a comfortable walking distance of all that Lincoln has to offer and explore. Free parking is also available (permit provided) which is significantly cheaper than the standard daily rate charged by the local council (£10+) and private companies. Rooms and facilities were kept clean and well maintained, including bedding and fresh towels. Although the property is shared, bedrooms are lockable with the room keys provided.

There was nothing I didn't like about my stay that was in the control of the hosts. Finding a parking space for your vehicle near to the property can be tricky, particularly if you are planning on driving elswhere during your stay. However, there are plenty of spaces in the allocated parking zone if you are willing to walk a short distance to and from your vehicle. The bathroom facilities were located downstairs, beyond the dining/lounge area and kitchen, which may be an issue for those who prefer more privacy. However, as mentioned above these are kept clean and made available to guests at all times.

The bed was comfortable, the host was responsive when needing something, not too far from town.

Definitely felt more like an HMO than a hotel. Bit strange as well to be woken up at 9.30pm by someone to try and gain access to my room to collect a load of belongings from the wardrobe so sleep was disrupted and it felt like an odd thing to happen. Although it wasn’t far into town the street itself didn’t feel as welcoming as I’ve experienced for other hotels in the past for a solo female traveller.
