Cozy cottage in a beautiful location

The location is beautiful, perfect for a weekend away from the city. The cottage we stayed in felt cozy, had some privacy, and we loved that we could bring our dog with us.

Cleanliness could be improved, the bedding, kitchen, and overall space didn’t feel very clean. While our cottage had some privacy, another cottage nearby meant that other guests used the lake right in front of us, which felt a little odd. Also, the pet policy wasn’t clear, as we paid for a cleaning fee and there was an extra fee for our dog to be paid to the owner directly.

Breathtaking views

The location is beautiful next to the lake. The views were awesome. Charming and fairly remote. Plenty of country walks for the dogs. Colm, our host, was welcoming and very accommodating. Would definitely go again.

Felt it could have benefitted from a few more facilities - perhaps a long handled broom to be able to sweep floors and the like. The top bunk was so high one of us slept on the couch. A few of the fittings were chipped and a bit the worse for wear. Not for anyone with mobility issues.

Peaceful and enjoyable in the most tranquil location.

Beautiful location, tranquil and scenic. Very helpful host and family. Very welcoming and easy going. Arranged a boat to be delivered to the cabin for our use. We would definitely return again

Superb

Great little cabin set in small wooded area right beside lough derg. You can pull up the car and unpack Firepit and bbq onsite which is great just wish we knew to bring our own firelighters and matches.. but fantastic for families would definitely go again

Great Lakeside Location

Great location among trees literally feet from Lough Derg. Lovely evenings sitting on the deck in front of fire pit. Comfortable. Very good shower. Remote but close enough to Garrykennedy village to go for food and/or pints.

Needs a bit more in the kitchen (better cutlery, small plates, more than one tea-towel, ice trays.) Could do with having an info sheet on how to heat water in kitchen sink, switch on gas for cooker, etc. Two rolls of toilet paper for four people for four days is a little bit mean... Maybe replace the chairs on the deck with something sturdier and more comfortable. But positives far outweigh negatives.

The heating was good, beautiful location.

It is a 2 bed cottage not 3bed. Grill in cooker wasn’t clean. Kitchen could do with more storage space for dry food items. Also more cutlery and delph would be a bonus.

Exceptional

The drive through the wooded area down to the lake will take your breath away.

That there was two options for cooking in one cabin, and all rooms had heaters so I had to keep up with the dial for comfort. Additionally, the family that lives there has a lot of kindness to share and when I was alone I never heard from them! The place was reclusive and tidy.
