About this house rental

Located 300m outside Whitegate Village, this self-catering property is situated on a large garden the shores of Cregg Lake, a small yet tranquil lake that is ideal for fishing or simply for watching the beautiful sunset each evening on the lake. The lake is home to swans and ducks, and sometimes early morning or evening a family of deer can be spotted by the waters edge. The village itself is 500m away where you will find shops and the local pub and restaurant.
Lough Derg, Irelands second largest lake is just 3 miles away and is popular for both fishing, sailing and cruisers. Boats can be rented to take out on the lake or you can avail of boat tours to places such as such as the Monastic settlement of Holy Island. There are two golf clubs in the area - Portumna Golf Club is 30 minutes away and East Clare Golf Club is 20 minutes away. Mountshannon, the adjoining village to Whitegate, is a picturesque village on the shores of Lough Derg with restaurants, pubs, and live music. There are walks on the Clare Walk Way close to the village and a lovely evenings walk is to walk through the village and down the countryside, around by Williamstown Harbor and back up to the village again - 7.5km
If you want to explore the southwest of Ireland further, the town of Killaloe is 30 minutes away while driving. Galway city is an hours drive. The market town of Ennis city is a 40 minute drive as is Limerick City. You can be back on the Wild Atlantic Way within one hour and drive through the Burren which is famous for its beautiful limestone landscapes. Located at the Southwestern edge of the Burren and running for 14km are the famous Cliffs of Moher. Hiking enthusiasts can do the Cliffs of Moher walk which starts in Fanore, stop off along the way at Cliffs of Moher visitor centre and finish up in Doolin where you can enjoy a lazy lunch and Irish traditional music.

The house itself is bright and airy and has views across the lake to the dense forest on the opposite side. There are 4 bedrooms, 2 kingside beds with en-suite. There is one double bedroom and one single. The third bathroom is located upstairs in the renovated attic
The kitchen comes fully equipped and there is a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. There are towels and linen available. There is unlimited WiFi and TV.
