Amazing view, location, very friendly owners. They offer perfect farmers food.

Weak hot water pressure, but it’s common problem for Montenegro mountain locations. And be careful with google maps how to get there, one of the roads is not existing in real life (you will understand that too late).

Nice bungalow with beautiful view

We really enjoyed our stay with two children in Budevice. The bungalow was a nice size with one double bed and one single bed, fridge, bathroom and balcony with picturesque view! They offer optional breakfast (delicious homemade jams, cheese and fried dough) which you can enjoy on the terrace of the main building (with beautiful view :) ). There are hammocks and swings for children. The host family is exceptionally friendly and helpful for planning your stay and day trips.

The shower has no curtain so the bathroom gets flooded when you shower.

Beautiful location and highly recommended for a respite stay.

A stunning location with very kind hosts. You really cant beat the view and we were fortunate enough to see a bear in the evening further down the valley! We stayed in a cute log cabin at the property which was one of 3. The cabins and ensuite are very spacious, and clean and a small fridge was provided on request. The cabins are on a slopping hill looking down into the valley. There is a communal eating area, again with spectacular views, and we stayed for dinner and breakfast. Both meals were quite large and home prepared. If you have small children, please note the balcony's on the cabins are not suitable for toddlers and there is currently a bit of construction work, which did not bother us at all. ADVISE - contact the hosts for directions - do not follow google maps without them. The paved road has not been mapped on google and it will send you up shocking roads!

Our cabin door would not close and the balcony needed a small amount of repairs.

Peaceful, quiet stay with amazing views

We stayed a few weeks ago on a bike packing trip. It is the best location overlooking the lake up on the mountain! Very peaceful. We had the room up above the main house with a little balcony which was perfect. The staff and service was awesome, they always catered to our requests and were very helpful. We went on a one way hike and the owner tried to book us a taxi but they couldn’t come so he went out of his way to do the trip and pick us up which was quite far and out of his way! Thank you 🙏

We had an exceptional 3 nights staying at Grandfather’s Place. It really is a magical place, owed to the wonderful family who own and run it. The food, hospitality, views and rooms were incredible. We loved it and would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Montenegro!

Beautiful cabin with a wonderful view!

The cabins and the view are absolutely stunning! Everything was clean, hot showers, fast internet, and the cabin was set up very nicely! The breakfast was very tasty as well!

The communication was a bit confusing. When we arrived, the man who greeted us kept asking us which cabin we were staying in, but we didn't know. We also thought the host dinner was offered to each guest, but when we arrived we learned we were supposed to request it ahead of time. It would have been nice if they had asked us if we wanted it ahead of time.

- impossible climb for many people to the upper bed, no ladder - the food was ok but for trekkers too little and only single Item, more vegetables and more nutritious items (eg beans, corn maze), lacking special items - no interactions

What wonderful hosts! This is a family business and you can tell from the small personal touches all around. Mama cooks very well and her sons are very caring for the hosts. They even took us to the hospital when we had a medical emergency! The cabin has an amazing view and the whole area is very tranquil. Will absolutely be coming back. Thank you for everything!

Feels like home

A homely place hidden in the Projletije’s foothills. Much better than staying directly in Plav (which leaves a lot to be desired). There is a beautiful view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. A trail starts closeby that will take you into the heart of Prokletije (although any hike over there is very difficult, esp. in the summer heat). If you are not doing the PoB, this will do fine as a starting location. The landlady is an excellent cook and happy to prepare all sorts of local dishes. All meals are taken on a very nice wooden terrace, as per the pictures. There is a construction on the neughbouring property but it was dormant when we were there (07/2023).

Great location, nice hosts. A perfect base for trips to the mountains. You can feel very safe. The facility is located in a beautiful location with views of the valley, the lake and the town of Plav. I recommend trying the regional dishes served by the hostess.

A bit tight and long access from the city of Plav. Narrow but asphalt road along its entire length. However, a person with average driving skills should have no major problems with getting there

The accommodation is very quietly located at the end of a mountain road and you have a wonderful view over Plav and the lake. The guest house is lovingly furnished and each of the 3 houses has a balcony. They are in the middle of an orchard where we were allowed to pick some fruit. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful and offer very tasty home-cooked breakfast and dinner. They are also happy to give information about numerous hiking and excursion options.

Wonderful view, peace, nature and kind hospitality.

If you are looking for something extraordinary, then you are exactly right with the lovely couple and their wonderful place with. The accommodation is simple but cozy and very clean. If you want, you can order a homemade local breakfast. Or you can let yourself be cooked in the evening. We tried both and were excited. Also a must is a glass (or two) of the homemade slivovice of the grandfather! We (2 families with 6 grown children) had three wonderful days there. We wish the family only the best for the future and continued good health! Lot's of love from the Ruedis from Switzerland and the Burkhart-Sallmann from Austria

Amazing place! It was very sad to leave it. I would definitely come back there at my next visit to Montenegro.

Wonderful place! It is located above Plav and the view from the window and balcony is just amazing! Everything inside the house is made of wood, there is a very special rustic design, we loved it very much! Hosts Seka and Fahid are super nice and helpful. For the moment they have three houses: one with double bed and two houses with twin beds (for 3 and 4 people). We stayed part of a time in double bed house and another part-at twin bed house and enjoyed them both. Fruit garden is an extra bonus!

Electricity was off a few times during our 6 days stay, but it happened always at noon-afternoon time so it wasn’t a problem. I guess it was related to Plav’s area works, not to Grandfathers place particularly. Wi-Fi wasn’t working all the time, but we had local simcard with data, so it wasn’t a problem, too.

Home-like stay in a great location with warm and charming hosts!

Great location and the hosts! It is challenging to get there but if you're on a car and enjoy spectacular panorama, Grandfathers Place's great choice. The hosts provided a detailed route guidance before the arrival that helped us a lot. The cabin was comfortable and perfect for two, private shower with hot water, fridge, terrace -- everything was useful. I also liked the ethno style of the interiors and the vibes of a private summer home run by grandfather and grandmother Sylvia. Also we loved the national cuisine that Grandfather's Place is providing, great chance to taste home-made local food.

We had some issue with the key lock and left the cabin unlocked but it wasn't a big issue because the whole territory feels like a private summer home/garden where you feel safe.

The view and location were beautiful. It was the perfect place to explore Prokletije National Park and was so wonderful to experience a different part of Montenegro. The family are so kind and welcoming and the food is delicious!

No curtains on the windows so be prepared for a beautiful sunrise to wake you up in the morning! Evenings were hot as there is no fan/air conditioning.

We had a perfect stay at “grandfathers house”. The family was very welcoming and lovely. They cooked for us traditional dishes every morning, dinner and lunch with fresh vegetables and fruits out of their huge garden. Everything we ate was homemade and organic. The view of the place is just magnificent. Pure nature and mountains, absolutely calm. The rooms are super charming and clean, mainly made out of wood and with a lot of love. We had a balcony as well with a view on the mountains. It’s the perfect place for taking some days off hectic cities and relaxing with good company, food and nothing but breathtaking nature around you.

The distance to the entrance of the Prokletije national park is quite a drive. Location is BEAU-tiful but keep in mind that it's far from facilities and the park. There's no heater in the room.

The best apartment in Plav. It has unbelievable view on the lake and mountains. The apartment is clean and comfortable and family that owns it are great, all of them. We also like their breakfast. Moreover, they have a wonderful garden where you can eat apples, plums and other fruits and berries. Thanks a lot!
