Beautiful quiet stay on the PoB trail

This is a perfect stay on the Peaks of the Balkans trail. The cabins are rustic but the ones at the back have electricity and were very comfortable to sleep. The location is amazingly quiet and the family and staff are so so kind. Showers were really warm (but only 1-2 for all guests). The food was 10/10 being a restaurant and I’d recommended eating here even if you don’t stay.

Just to note that breakfast, lunch and dinner is additional and the cost adds up compared to other guesthouses on the trail, but the quality is much higher. If you are trying to save on costs I would ask to package leftovers from breakfast as it was so much food :) Big tour groups can come through for the restaurant so plan your toilet breaks accordingly!

The location is excellent. The terrace area is lovely with great views and all weather protection. Food was good, though perhaps not very traditional. The host and family are very friendly.

Great and authentic experience

Everything was amazing Super cozy and warm cabin. Showers are not in the cabin. But that didn’t bother us. The best food on the mountains by far. Really really nice staff, who speaks great English. Overall a perfect spot for the small warm cozy homey cabin they have. Super recommend. Nara you are the best ;)

Stunning location (despite the rain & thunder on arrival!). The evening meal was delicious- starter, main and desert, with a breathtaking view. Hridsko jezero nearby is well worth walking to. Shower & toilet facilities were great.

Not a negative comment, but just make sure you pack a torch - there's no light in the hut itself. Had to chuck a couple creepy crawlies out of the hut but nothing too scary!

Amazing place. We were walking the Peaks Of The Balkans and were so glad we stayed here. Very, very kind hosts. An incredible view down the valley with amazing sunsets. Superb food. A good shower. A short walk up to the lake and lots of peace and quiet. I think others who stayed down the valley were a bit jealous when passing this place on the walk. Also note it's a proper working farm. Tourism at it's best and so, so much nicer than staying in Plav. Just come up for the day and chill.

Fantastic rural getaway in rural Montenegro

Fantastic rural homestay with excellent food and views. We had a fabulous time here and would love to return. Hosts were very nice and very hospitable - let our children warm up in the kitchen and was given milk and tea before bed. Rooms were nice and clean, lots of blankets provided. Bathroom was clean and warm water. We arrived with small car and road was fine if you drive slowly.

The view! The hosts were lovely and the food was very nice. There were plenty of friendly animals: a cat, a dog, hens and cows. Great location.

A wonderful stay in the mountains

Samel and his family are very friendly and hospitable and provide an excellent service. His mother makes the most amazing food high up in the mountains with pita (pies) and kacamak (potatoes and cheese) on the menu. But it is the views from their etno selo which are just incredible and worthy of a visit alone. There are lots of hikes you can go on and you have hot water and good facilities to take care of yourself.

Simply amazing!

I loved everything about Samuel's Cottage! I stayed in a little cabin, very basic but such a great experience in the mountains which I highly recommend. The hosts are incredible, the food, the hospitality, it just can't be beat. I will definitely be back in the future!

Wunderschön gelegen und tolle Gastfreundschaft

Da um diese Jahreszeit (Anfang Juni) noch nicht so viel los war, habe wir sogar ein Upgrade bekommen in ein grösseres und kühleres Zimmer. Die Familie, die die Unterkunft führt war extrem nett. Die Lage war ein zusätzliches Plus, da man sich am nächsten Morgen eine Stunde Wanderung spart um nach Plav zu kommen.

Essen war etwas teurer als in anderen Unterkünften.

Heerlijke plek! Schattig hutje met fantastisch uitzicht. Niet helemaal in Babino Polje dus je bent iets eerder klaar met je wandeling als je de peaks of the Balkan route anti clockwise loopt.

De prijzen vielen wat tegen (zeker als je net uit Albanië komt), maar ook in vergelijking met andere accommodaties was het best prijzig. Desondanks heel erg genoten van ons verblijf.

Super vriendelijke gastheer en ook efficient. We kregen een upgrade van ons huisje naar een grotere cabin, het was die dag heel veel regen. Lekker gegeten.

De huidige was en toilet faciliteiten zijn wat ondermaats zeker als het goed vol zit zoals bij ons, maar daar is blijkbaar beterschap in zicht

Toller Platz

Die Lage ist traumhaft. Die Vermieter super freundlich und fürsorglich. Die Auffahrt ist eine Serpentine-Schotterpiste. Eigentlich nur für Wanderer und Jeepfshrer geeignet.

Zwei Toiletten und eigentlich nur eine Dusche finden wir für die große Anzahl der Gäste zu wenig. Das war purer Stress, zum Zähneputzen an das einzige Waschbecken ran zu kommen. Noch eine kleine Wasserstelle wäre durch die Quellen sicher machbar und würde für etwas Entspannung sorgen. Das Frühstück Preis/Leistung/Auswahl fanden wir für 10€ pro Person überteuert. Qualität gut. Traurig ist, dass der Hund an einer ganz kurzen Kette hängt und sein eigenes Revier beschmutzen muss. Das ist kaum mit anzusehen. Alle anderen Tiere: Kühe, Hühner, Enten, Katze leben paradiesisch. Warum nicht auch der arme Hund?
