A lovely apartment with great views of the esplanade

Beautiful location and a lovely apartment, ideal for self catering, The views were fantastic, right on the water front and everything we needed was within easy walking distance.

My only critism is that for a 2 bedroom place the fridge should have been full sized and as mention in another review, the lack of hooks to hang washing and towels etc.

The parking. Not clearly marked and so someone was parked in the space when we eventually located it, thanks to a resident in the adjacent block. No window or fan in the first bedroom makes it quite claustrophobic.

Lovely flat close to everything

Everything about our stay at Westbay No 8 was amazing!! The location is to die for, and the flat was equipped with everything we needed. It is directly across from the ocean and the kids loved collecting sea shell and sea glass each morning. The flat also had a few board games which came in handy on tne rainy days. Loved Oban and our time here.

Neighbours flood light was on 24/7, doors didn’t close, no instructions, no hairdryer and we had trouble locking front door as we have never used a door lock like that before.

Disaster check in, good location

The location was great, directly across the road from the water, with a nice view (if it had stopped raining) I chose this accommodation as it provides a car space. The towels were big and soft which is always nice. The apartment is literally maybe 5 minutes walk along the water and you are in the main street. The BEST part of our 2x night stay was the meal we had at small Bar/ Restaurant to the left of the apartment (2min walk away) called "Coasters". My family of 3x had a 3x course meal each and it has so far been the best meals we have eaten since arriving in Scotland 2wks ago. I would return to Oban just to eat at this place again. Excellent services, Excellent meals and Excellent atmosphere 10/10

Checking in was a DISASTER, this was booked last minute as it was showing as available. I provided my arrival time at the time of booking, though when we arrived I was told the apartment wasn't ready (we arrived just after 3pm) and told to go away and come back at 4pm. We did this but still had not been provided with the pin/code to access the lock box. For the next 2hrs we waited outside in the dark, cold and wet weather while I continuously rang and emailed the number provided with the booking. The number was diverted and over a dozens msgs were left plus emails sent. I then gave up and contanted Booking.com. after a total of 3hrs I was finally provided with a text with the pin to access the lock box. At the same time Booking.com emailed me telling me that the booking had been cancelled and had found me alternative accommodation. Since we had already accessed the apartment and bought our luggage in we decided to stay put. The property manager then call me and was so rude blaming the delay on Booking.com and then told me it was my fault for booking last minute. He then said to me "What's your problem your in now" if I wasn't travelling with my 80yr old mother I would have walked out and moved to the new accommodation that Booking.com had found. The heaters in 1x of the bedrooms and the living did not work. I contacted the property manager that night and he said they were on a timer and do work. This was not true as neither heaters worked the two days we were. He did say he would send some around the next day to look at them but no one turned up. Some cutlery in the drawers were dirty and therefore we had wash them before using them. The lounge suite may look nice in the photos but was so uncomfortable resulting in a sore back. Would we stay here again when visiting Oban NO we wouldn't.

phenomenal! this place will always hold a place in our hearts as while staying here we found out we are expecting our fi

spacious and central to everything.

the only issue we had is there was some surface mould on part of the ceiling in the back bedroom. we only noticed it on the Sunday night and my father in law wiped it down with some mould and mildew cleaner he found under the sink, as I’m asthmatic and my mother in law has copd it wasn’t an ideal situation. it seems to just be on that one area as we had looked around after seeing this and there was none more.

Would love to stay again

Clean and comfortable, with an excellent location, and free parking. The shower was lovely (with a full door instead of the half-doors you sometimes get!) and the kitchen was well-equipped. There were some board games and a puzzle in the living room, which we were delighted to find. Someone had been kind enough to turn the heating on before we got there, which is so thoughtful and much appreciated.

Superb

Very well done out apartment in a great location. The decor is done to a high standard and was exceptionally clean, with good facilities available for self catering. The weather was particularly poor during our visit, so having Amazon Prime and Netflix available enabled us to stay in and watch a variety of rubbish to keep us entertained.

There were small damp patches visible in the main bedroom ceiling, easily rectified. Due to it being a Saturday night, there was a lot of noise from the street located behind the main bedroom, but didn’t go beyond 1am.

Excellent choice for a short stay I. Oban

Booked to visit the University nearby for our son. Ideal location, great to have our own space rather than using a hotel. Newly done up and modern decor, tastefully done. lovely view across to the sea, super sunsets. Ideal for a stay of a few nights. Weather was moderately kind. Walking distance to great fish & chips and also to Etive, great restaurant.

Cafetière would be helpful and possibly a dehumidifier in back bedroom. Minor points and did not detract from our stay.

A fantastic place to tour Oban

Location was excellent, quiet but easy walk to shops and Ferry. Decking area was excellent with a stunning view of sea, islands and West Coast sunset. Excellent beds and well equipped kitchen. Comfortable seating, very high standard of cleaning. Great communications from landlord.

I would improve the security of the internal door to the rest of the building, and for safety, being elderly, put a rail by the steps.

great location and clean rooms. there’s also a small pantry to get you started when you just arrive.

I would have liked some spare towels and bedding. traveling with small kids means these things can be really useful. we had the minimum necessary and would have felt more comfortable if there were spares. a later checkout to about 11am would have been terrific.

We had to park the car on the road behind the property … but It wasn’t really an issue as there was a side gate so not a problem once we’d unpacked the car
