Wonderful magical place.
The owner was delightful and helpful. Her garden, even in November, is exquisite.

The best part is a comfortable bed and easy reach of the main square.
Comfortable bed.
Sink drainage need fixing as the water flows away very slowly.
Shower has no door and can eaisy flood the bedroom floor.
Toilet area is very small.
Kitchen is basically a cupboard with small fridge and kettle.
The patio cannot be accessed directly from the room.
Basically it is one room with a tiny toilet, Shower and sink.
Expensive given one could get a very good hotel for a similar price.

We loved Brugge, but we’re disappointed we booked to stay here
Within walking distance from the city centre
Firstly we needed earplugs to sleep due to the street noise and also owners being up until after midnight. The shower is not private, it opens up into the room. The owners asked that we didn’t let any water get onto the floor when showering, but this is completely impossible. There is no shower door or shower curtain, meaning you cannot stop this. The owners need to take some responsibility for this and fix the problem, it should not be the responsibility of a paying guest. The toilet is in a very small room, and very smelly. The terrace…firstly you have to go outside back onto the street, unlock a side door, work your way through the owners stuff (and rubbish), to get there. The terrace is completely overgrown and uninviting. Not the place advertised to have a relax and read a book! We had mosquitos in our room at night, the owners said us was because of being near the canal, but we have done that before and never had an issue. We think it was more because of the rubbish down the side of the house. Communication with the owners is very bad, they never get back to you.

This is essentially a grossly overpriced hostel.
The location was terrific!
1. The shower was horrible!!! (The owner’s son told us to be careful or it will rain downstairs.) The shower itself was in the bedroom, five feet from the bed, with no door or curtain, thus absolutely no possibility of privacy. There was no lip on the edge, the shower floor isn’t pitched properly, and the drain was clogged, so the water could only run for 30 seconds before the water started to flow over the edge to the wood floor. To prevent this, we had to turn the water off every 30 seconds and allow the water to drain, and we packed all our towels at the edge to protect their floor.
It’s not our job to protect their downstairs. Yes, it’s an old building, but that’s no excuse. I see that there have been complaints about this for years and nothing has been done to correct this.
I challenge the owners, who live in an updated area of the home in back, to take a shower up there!
2. Sink is also clogged.
3. Long after reserving the room, we received a message stating we had to supply our own sheets and towels! After a letter of complaint, they agreed to supply them.
4. There was no coffee maker in the room when we arrived.
5. The terrace looks nothing like the one in the photo. It’s only accessible by going outside and through a locked storage shed next door, and winding around their bikes and boats to find it out back. It has the potential for being lovely, but it is completely overgrown with weeds.
7. The toilet is in a very small closet, my knees touched the door, and there was no lock.
6. The”kitchenette” is a microwave and mini fridge in a cupboard.
We have stayed in far worse places, but we paid over $200. each night for this place. It felt more like staying in a hostel, and we feel we were completely overcharged for this. I don’t think they should be having guests here until they correct the problems with the shower.
