This property could not be more perfect for a trip to Bruges! I don't know where to begin... The location is phenomenal, just a short walk from the main square, all the major sites, great restaurants and a grocery. The apartment is charming, spacious, spotless, with everything you need for a comfortable stay (including bicycles!). To say the host, Marc, is gracious world be a gross understatement. From his communication to his greeting on arrival, and all the little touches, Marc is truly a super host. The perfect place to stay in Bruges. Incredible hosts, who even picked us up at the train station and took us back, and provided tons of information and bicycles! The location is perfect, just two blocks from the main square. The apartment is amazing, super-clean, and stocked with everything you will need. The outside terrace is delightful to sit and enjoy the carillon bells. A million stars!!

The perfect stay - they’re the perfect hosts. They were super accommodating and even lent us bikes to enjoy during the stay. The apartment is well decked out with everything you might need. The weather was awesome for us, 25-32 degrees every day. We particularly liked the outdoor terrace which was ideal for eating out and playing games into the evening whilst listening to the carillon. Highly recommend, very central feels like you are a Bruggian for the week

Our family enjoyed what turned out to be an extremely clean and spacious loft apartment for discovering Bruges. An abundance of thanks to our host Marc; who was most generous and attentive to our every need! It's clear that Marc has invested a lot of time and energy in renovating the space, while being mindful in trying to maintain much of the old world charm associated with the home. We recommend the space and most certainly look forward to a future stay.

The apartment has great character and a lovely terrace. The location is ideal for easy walking distance into the center of town yet far enough away to be quiet at night. The kitchen was great for simple breakfasts and had a good coffee machine. The stairs were a bit of a challenge with a bad knee but not impossible. Marc was very helpful - picked us up at the train station and dropped us off at our canal boat at the end of our stay. Couldn’t ask for more!

Our host Marc was a really lovely and kind man. He picked us up and returned us to the train station. Our apartment was great. It was very old and quaint and decorated in keeping with its age but very comfortable. It was lovely to be greeted with a bowl of fresh fruit and beer in the fridge.We loved sitting out on the private patio which was lovely and so quiet even though it was so close to the very heart of the old town. There was also condiments available if you wanted to eat in but there were so many restaurants close by it was very easy to eat out all the time.Bruges is a truly beautiful city. We were thrilled to visit. A canal tour is a must but then it is so easy to wander around all the canals and streets as it is so flat.

Do yourself a favour and book this accomodation. Marc is the most amazing host ever. Picked us up from the Train Station and drove us to the accomodation and helped with our luggage and meticulously went through all the details of the property and every recommendation he gave was perfect. Marc also drove us to the Hire Car and helped navigate our way through finding the address. I would stay here again in a heart beat. So close to all the action but far enough away to relax when your legs and body are exhausted. Restaurants we chose to eat at were Mozarts, The Greek Restaurant on the same street and the Taj Mahal Indian. Totally recommend all 3. Marc was also gracious and loaned us bikes which we road to the windmills and further on Damme and returned back on a boat. Bruges is such a beautiful city. We stayed for 3 nights and felt this was the perfect amount of time to explore the area.

I had a wonderful stay with my teenage daughters in this beautiful penthouse! Our host Marc was the kindest host and I’d consider a friend now. He sent us information about Bruge and a map months before our stay and arranged to pick us up from the train station. The apartment is gorgeous with vault ceilings, wooden beams and an outdoor terrace overlooking the beautiful skyline. The place is situated a block away from the main shopping and city center and ideally near amazing restaurants like Pietje-Pek and Mozart. Our host had bicycles that we used to travel around town and experience the different sites and activities. I highly recommend and would give this penthouse and host a 5 rating! 11/10

This apartment was excellent for my family’s stay in Bruges. The host had thoughtfully prepared for our arrival and check-in was seamless. The residence is charming and in an excellent location to explore the town’s sights and attractions. We arrived by car so the included parking was very convenient, as was use of the host’s bicycles which we took advantage of. Our stay was a memorable one and we will definitely seek out this residence again for our next visit.

Marc is an amazing host! He picked us up from the train station and gave us a ride back when we departed. He is very nice, helpful and informative! Typical with European stays, the unit has stairs - two flights up to the unit and one flight within the unit, up to two of the bedrooms and the full bathroom. All very easy to navigate with extremely sturdy handrails. The unit has a ton of flair and it has a large balcony with fantastic views and seating. All of the beds were very comfortable. The unit is only a few minutes walk to the main square and very central to everything. The unit also has bikes that you can use. Biking was a highlight of our stay because it was very easy to get around and the city is very accommodating to bikers. There is a free shuttle service that runs around town that almost stops directly in front of the unit, which was a great way to get back to the train station for day trips. The shower is tight but manageable. We give this stay a huge thumbs up!

We had an amazing stay in Brugges! The home is fantastic, full of history and charm, and in the perfect location. Marc is the most hospitable host! He picked us up from the train station upon our arrival, and even drove us back at the end of our stay which is unexpected from a host and was also so helpful. He walked us through everything we needed to know about the home and made us feel very welcomed. He has bikes that can be used during the stay, which was another great value and benefit, and riding bikes was one of the highlights of our stay. If you are looking at this listing, you should definitely book--you will not regret it! We would definitely stay at this home again!

The penthouse itself is in a wonderful historic property that has been lovingly refurbished with nice amenities. We booked our stay last minute as the property had a cancellation and we were so lucky to have managed to stay here. Although the property may seem a little dated by looking at the pictures, it is really quite charming and a very special building. The property was immaculately clean, the linen felt very fresh and Marc had left us everything we could need, literally everything through to Babe and Toy Story on DVD if you really fancied it. We took our 4 month baby and were quite touched at the thought the hosts had taken to accommodate her, including a changing station set up upstairs and downstairs (complete with a little bin), high chair, cot, bedding - it made life very easy. The absolute star of this property was the location though, we were so close to the square it was often easier to pop back to change our babies nappy rather than find somewhere - literally a 2 minute walk!! The parking garage was a bonus too.

What a find this place was for us, a group of four friends. Marc and his wife are the perfect hosts for this beautiful apartment in Bruges. The space is so convenient to the center of the medieval section of Bruges, we were able to easily navigate our way around the area from there. The apartment is so comfortable and well equipped, we didn't lack a thing. As with most places around the area, you must be able to navigate steps (several flights), but other than that the place is perfect! Thank you again, Marc, hope to see you again!

We cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at Marc & Rika’s apartment in Bruges. Marc is an exceptional host; weeks before we arrived he mailed us a package of information about things to do and see in Bruges, which helped us plan our visit. He greeted us personally when we arrived, carried our luggage upstairs then guided us to the private parking. He showed us around the apartment and chatted with us about things to see in Bruges. The apartment is truly like a much-loved home. It has comfortable furnishings, is spacious, charming, very clean, quiet, secure and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. We especially loved the outdoor terrace, in view of several church steeples. The location is a perfect home base for exploring this incredible city. We would not hesitate to return to Marc & Rika’s penthouse apartment.

First, Brugge is great town to visit, and this romantic penthouse is the best location in town, just steps away from the center square. If you are considering a VRBO in Brugge don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to enjoy living in a property that was built in the 17th century. It still has the charm and warmth of wooden beams centuries old while having been modernized with all of the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Everything worth seeing in Brugge, and there is a lot to see, is within easy walking distance from this property, including a supermarket. Restaurants galore abound within steps, yet the unit is quiet and most comfortable - particularly the terrace which will be exclusively yours to use for morning coffees or afternoon glasses of wine. The unit comes well stocked with plenty of towels, utensils, dishwasher and a Miele combination clothes washer/dryer, which was a Godsend for doing our laundry in mid-trip. We have enjoyed more than 25 VRBO's from California to Vienna, and never have we met hosts more accommodating than Marc and Rika the owners of this penthouse. From driving us to and from the train station, helping carry our luggage, walking us to an Apple store to fix our cellphone, and even having Rika (a hairdresser) make time to wash and blow dry my wife's hair (a rare treat in mid-vacation), we have never experienced more welcoming and accommodating hosts. Even in our mid-70's we were able to handle the stairs. Don't miss this one.

This is an outstanding apartment, comfortable and beautifully furnished, with old world charm. The description is completely accurate and owners Marc and Rika are lovely hosts. Our flight got us to Bruges way before check-in time, and Marc let us leave our luggage at the apartment; walked us to the best cafe in the Market Square (5 minutes away) to wait for cleaning to be finished; and then called us to come back and settle in 2 hours early. Very nice after a long trip. We appreciated Marc's advice and tips for touring the city, not to mention the complementary fruit, beer and chocolates. A large outdoor patio comfortable seating and barbecue is a special feature. We loved Bruges and hope to stay in this apartment again some day. Dank u wel Marc and Rika!

We had a lovely week at this property! It was beautiful and very well located in the centre of Bruges, walking distance from all the attractions. We loved the outside terrace and barbeque. We particularly appreciated the private car-parking space, as parking is very expensive in the city centre! Marc was very helpful and gave us lots of information. We had a great time cycling around the city on his bicycles! Bruges itself is a very beautiful place, with loads to do and many great restaurants and bars. We would love to come back again one day!!

From arrival day we had great communication with Marc the owner who met us and helped us park the car in their underground complimentary garage. Apartment was amazing , very central to the square and all attractions. Nothing was too much trouble. Fruit , wine , local beer and chocolate provided by the owners. We came for my wife's birthday as a surprise and we were not disappointed. Marc was super helpful and very accommodating as we had a late arrival. My 2 year old daughter loved the toys that Marc had stored. The location is perfect, and the outdoor terrace was a nice addition for the evenings. Would definitely come back.

Marc, the owner, is amazing: friendly, attentive (not intrusive). He offered to pick us up from the train station and return us to the train station. He shared critical info and mailed a packet of Brugge travel info. This apartment is beautifully furnished with antiques, stained glass, comfy furniture, lovely books, and an assortment of beer glasses to accommodate the local beers. Lots of Brugge/day destination guide books in many languages. The decor and apartment character reflect the medieval city two floors below. As lovely as the online photos. APARTMENT LAYOUT: On the first floor is the terrace, kitchen/dining, entry, living area (sofa, chairs,TV). Lots of natural light.Between the entry and living area is a sleeping area with comfortable futon/queen bed.There are heavy curtains to provide privacy and light block.On the 2nd floor is a bedroom.Next to the bedroom is a bathroom which opens to the hallway (toilet, sink, mirror, shower-water hot, pressure good). Within this bathroom is the combination washer/dryer. On this 2nd floor is the powder room: 2 sinks and a large mirror. This well-lighted room is perfect for brushing teeth, drying hair, applying make-up, etc. There is no toilet or shower in this room. Overall plenty of towels, blankets, toilet paper, etc. Also iron/board, good hair dryer, vaccum cleaner, nespresso, kettle. EXCELLENT LOCATION. At least 3 cathedrals, restaurants, market square, groc, chocolate, all nearby. We will stay again.

Our stay in Bruges was amazing. The apartment was safe, clean and nicely appointed. This is one of the most beautiful VRBO rentals in which we have stayed. Marc was amazing and graciously picked us up from the train station. If you have mobility issues, this is not the place for you. There are several flights of steep stairs to navigate. 10/10 would recommend and we hope to return to this apartment in the future.

Our husband and I as well as my 9 yr, 11 yr and 75 yr old mother absolutely fell in love with this place. The location is perfectly walkable to groceries, the square and to everything you need. The apartment is spacious and full of character. It is brilliantly situated, being extremely central but on a street that is not busy at all. The terrace was surprisingly big and we really appreciated it when the sun came out. The owner, Marc, was very helpful and friendly, and was always easy to reach.
