Delightful apartment

A little oasis right in the centre of bustling Stresa, overlooking a pretty lawned courtyard garden. Very comfortable, well laid out accommodation. The hosts are charming and Giorgio went out of his way to be helpful during our stay. Excellent location, very close to the waterfront and boats around the lake. Highly recommended.

A fabulous, centrally located apartment with everything we needed, friendly and helpful hosts.

A fabulous apartment in a perfect central location, surrounded by plenty of great restaurants. The apartment had everything we needed — a well-equipped kitchen, lots of storage space, plenty of plugs, and an excellent mirror positioned perfectly beside a powerful hairdryer. We met the family who own the property, and they couldn’t have been friendlier. They gave us excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants and even suggested a lovely hotel where we could use the spa facilities, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Communication was prompt and helpful, and a small issue with the safe was quickly resolved. We would definitely stay here again!

Great stay! Highly recommend.

Location was really good, very close to everything.......shops, restaurants, lakefront. The owners met me out front and gave me the door code. They also kept in contact before my arrival to ensure everything went smoothly, which was great. The unit was simple but perfect and very clean. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone.

The best place to stay in Stresa

This was a lovely spacious apartment with everything you needed, had the most amazing shower, was very quiet at night and a fantastic location in Stresa. The whole check in procedure was very easy and the hosts were lovely. The beds were comfortable and it was all lovely

The location was perfect, everything was very clean and the apartment was spacious. Cozy atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone! The owners were really friendly and also gave us some tips to nice restaurants.

The property had everything it was clean the reception we received was beautiful and friendly. Location was fantastic ferry just a 2 minute walk and train station 10 minutes walk. We were given lots of information where to eat and what to see. So helpful we highly recommend this hotel. We will return.

Perfect

One word to sum up our stay. PERFECT Perfect location, perfect apartment and perfect hosts. Garden Lodge was our favourite place we stayed in during our entire trip and we stayed in 10 different places over one month. The apartment was immaculate, modern, comfortable and had all the essentials we needed. The bed was amazing and so comfortable and the bathroom and shower a great size, considering they are usually small in Italy. Centrally located, literally in town and just a few minutes walk to the lake and ferries. The restaurants and shops are at your doorstep, yet your stay is soooo quiet and peaceful at night and in the mornings because the apartments are at the back in a garden courtyard. I could have stayed and stayed; we were so sad to leave after only 3 nights. The hosts and the locals were all so friendly and Stresa was simply beautiful and stunning to explore. Thank you, Giorgio and Sergio and the lady, (Nadia i think her name was) in the leather bag shop, you were all so helpful and friendly. We loved chatting to you, and my husband loves the leather belt he bought from your shop. Giorgio was a gentleman and even drove us to the train station on our last day. Also, thank you for the restaurant recommendations especially, Taverna Del Pappagallo Ristorante E Pizzeria. Yum!

Great location in the centre of stresa and surprisingly quiet. The room and facilties were fantastic, exactly like the photos and description. The hosts went above and beyond, even giving us a lift to the next town. We couldn't recommend a better place to stay for this budget.

Perfect location for a chill out lakeside break

Superb penthouse apartment in a perfect location. Set in a lovely courtyard behind Georgio's leather shop (Lady). Quiet yet in the town centre. 2 minutes walk from the Lake and Ferry terminal. Spotlessly clean and immaculately presented with everything you need for your stay. Has aircon which was a bonus during the heatwave we experienced. Lovely bakery nearby so we ate breads and pastries for breakfast on the balcony. Plenty of restaurants within minutes walk. We were warmly welcomed and provided with maps, supermarket location and restaurant recommendations. I couldn't resist buying a bag from there leather shop.

Rivals the most expensive hotels in Stresa!!

Location was super central in Stresa and only a 5 min walk to the lake. The room was large, quiet and very clean. We had friends staying in a 350euro (a night) hotel and they were jealous of our place!! The location was convenient, the room was ideal (with great air con!) and the hosts were super friendly. I couldn't recommend it enough! Thank you :)

I'd have loved a mini pool but only because it is super hot in Stresa!! There's nothing else I didn't like - a really great place to stay!

One of our best stays ever – thoughtful touches and exceptional hosts

One of the best accommodations from our trips! Less than a 5-minute walk to the lake, right in the heart of Stresa on a charming pedestrian street. At the same time, it’s quiet—the rooms face a peaceful green courtyard. Entry is by code, which made check-in very easy, especially since the entrance is through the store. Everything is well thought-out: new plumbing, a hair dryer, excellent hot water pressure, and stable Wi-Fi. No need to ask for a password—everything you need is already in the room, including a list of recommended restaurants. The room is equipped with a kettle, cups, plates, utensils, wine glasses, a corkscrew, and even a special stopper for prosecco, along with tea, coffee, and sugar. In the courtyard, there’s a table and chairs where you can enjoy breakfast or relax with a glass of wine. The beds are very comfortable. What made our stay truly memorable was the warm and helpful communication with Giorgio and Nadia. Their kind and effective assistance in recovering a suitcase lost at Malpensa was invaluable. Thank you so much! We’ll always look back on our time in Stresa with the fondest memories.

The only thing I can think of is the lack of hooks for outerwear, everything else is excellent.

Exceeded my expectations

Quiet yet located near everything we wanted. Very clean and comfortable, the bed was very comfortable. The studio was very well thought out with everything we needed. Very helpful owners. Highly recommend this accommodation.

An Oasis in the middle of Stresa.

Garden Lodge is in the middle of the Old Town, close to restaurants, shops, and the ferries which go to the island and around the lake. Perfect position! Our room opened onto a secluded garden, complete with our own table and chairs, ready to enjoy a prosecco after a day of sightseeing. The staff are very helpful and always friendly with a smile as you walk past. The room itself was comfortable and very quiet. Easily one of the best places we have stayed at in 8 weeks of travelling around Europe.

More than perfect

The room is impeccably clean, the bed is very comfy and the location is perfect, surrounded by shops and even a supermarket. The host put an incredible attention to make sure the guests had everything they can need, I was incredibly surprised by that. Another very positive note is the hosts themselves: really amazing people. In 13 years of travels, I never lived such a "more than perfect" experience. I will come back for sure

Perfect stay in a beautiful place, we would not hesitate to return to Garden Lodge!

What was not to like about Garden Lodge? Perfect location, away from the street with a lovely little well kept garden and yet steps away from everything in Stresa - ferry access, bars, restaurant, supermarket. The accommodation itself was spotlessly clean and fresh, with two of everything we needed. Some water and a bottle of prosecco on arrival was a nice touch too. We stayed for 12 nights in May and we found something different to do every day, beautiful places to visit by ferry or train (the train station in Stresa is about ten mins walk away and great for a trip to Milan, or Domodosolla which we were very pleasantly surprised by). Giorgio was so helpful, always great communication, even waiting for us when I told him our arrival time may be slightly later. The code access to both the main door and the apartment was easy to use. He also gave me a link for the Alibus from the airport which drops you just around the corner, this was 14 euros each and well worth pre booking.

Exceptional Stay

Fantastic stay at the garden lodge in beautiful Stresa. Really easy check in at the leather shop The apartment has been tastefully decorated and done out and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Very well equipped and a lovely sunny balcony. Right in the centre of Stresa, by the lovely main square and just a few minutes from the ferry terminal. The hosts were amazing, so friendly and welcoming. A lovely touch of prosecco and chocolates in the room to celebrate our retirement. We cannot rate here highly enough, really hope to return again

The property is located in the center of town, but its pretty verdant courtyard makes you feel like you’re a million miles away. The accommodation, with its kitchenette, lives more like an efficiency apartment than merely a room. The hosts could not have been more solicitous, even driving us to the train station when we were unable to book a taxi.

No stress in Stresa Garden Lodge

The location was perfect for visiting the town and taking the ferry to the islands. The top floor apartment was spotless, very comfortable and cozy with two balconies with sitting areas. The owner is super nice and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and things to do. If we return to Stresa we will definitely stay here again!

Perfect host, perfect home

The host knows I'm going to rave about this place because I told him at the time, but I absolutely loved it. He is super friendly and knew it was me as soon as I was into his shop, like he was waiting for us. The apartment is gorgeous, so quiet but right in the thick of things. We were right at the top with a balcony overlooking the garden and rooftops. Everything is so well thought out, the kitchen is great, the bed super comfy, bathroom spotless. Definitely a little home from home. Would love to return.

One of the better places i’ve stayed at with a wonderful host.

I loved every single thing about this place. It checks all the boxes: -Very cost effective given location. -Located absolutely perfectly in the center of charming old town. -The unit is very nice and well taken care of, bed is comfortable. Giorgio was clearly considerate of what travelers might need. -Giorgio himself is the extremely friendly and helpful. He gave great food, activity and practical recommendations for our stay.
