Nice clean rooms, comfy bed and modern bathrooms with a good shower.

The room was good. Plenty of towels. Kettle, hairdryer, even a iron. Bathroom are good with a good shower. Staff friendly and helpful, booked at last minute as its very handy for visiting family. Would stay again.

I'm sure on our last stay there were cereals to start your breakfast, but on this occasion there weren't any. Apart from that the breakfast was good.

Fab one night stay. Halfway House ticked all the boxes

Easy access from M1. Parking was available. Great breakfast with perfectly cooked eggs. All staff that we met were v. friendly. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable.

There is live music on Sat. night which you can hear in room 6. This is mentioned in the booking info. However, as we knew about it wasn’t a problem. Didn’t hear any traffic noise,

Great place to stay

Wow!! What a welcome from Debbie when we checked in 😊 Spotless room with our own direct access (so no issue coming home late from the party we went to) - GREAT SHOWER and the room looked recently refurbished. We had a drink in the bar before we went out and the owner/landlord was very welcoming too- great beer!!

Hidden gem …

Convenient location for my visit to the area … previously stayed at Travelodge / Premier inn but this will be first call in future. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked … all staff were friendly and welcoming..

No isssues though the stairs are a little steep for those less mobile ..

Total lack of sleep. NOT recommended

When I booked they said it was a live music venue but if asked for on arrival they had quieter rooms. I arrived just after 10am and was booked in by a lady who was also the cleaner who booked me into room 5, a quiet room as I was the first to arrive and she said the room was available. I could not leave my bag as she was due to clean all 6 rooms. When I arrived on the night after a day with my son I found room 5 had been given to someone else and I had room 1 over the main part of the pub. Extreemly noisy from the live music, not something you want after a busy day and you are 73 years old. By the time the music stopped at around 11:20pm I could not get off to sleep. Owner gave the impression he was making up excuses as he went along saying things that contradicted his cleaner who had already said she was having to clean all 6 rooms so no guests from the previous night which he was trying to give as one of his excuses along with all the rooms are as noisy as each other so why does his adverising say some rooms are quieter and the room I should have been in has to be accessed from outside and the far end of the pub so would be in a much quieter location.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the staff were polite and friendly.

There was live music playing in the pub on the Saturday (which they did worn about), which was very loud until around 11 pm

Quiet room that I asked for.free parking, bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked.

Heating should have been switched on knowing that I was staying. Tv wasn’t working on normal channels, owner was told and tried to rectify, but didn’t change anything

A great welcome and good value for money- recommended

Great welcome from the lady behind the bar when I arrived late at 9.30- didn't catch her name though. Very helpful and so welcoming. A great value pub B&B- rooms clean and bed very comfortable, shower hot and a nice beer. Breakfast order taken the night before and they even asked what time I wanted it. Great quality as included in the price and I enjoyed a relaxing start to the day. The lady at breakfast also very helpful and welcoming. If you are looking for a good value clean place you can’t go wrong here. Standards and service surpass a lot of the chain hotels so well done

This hosts of this property are brilliant , warm , professional and I would highly recommend to stay here. Extremely helpful with early check in and late check out. The pub staff were excellent, special shout out to Evie ! The breakfast was banging , just what we needed before heading off home. Everyone we interacted with were lovely , warm & friendly. I honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough. Thanks for having us Joanne & Neil 😀

Exceptional value

The room was clean and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom and effective shower. The room was well stocked with tea, coffee etc and the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I did not have time for the breakfast but there was an excellent choice and it was cooked fresh.

pub clean pleasant i bet it’s a great local pub staff welcoming

right on main road so constant traffic yes shut window but night we stayed was heat wave had to have window open had live band on evening no mention from owners or anything on website booking .com in description that your sleep may be disrupted due too live bands went on till 12 very very LOUD did not get sleep gone 12 not good when got busy day next morning perhaps they should notify future customers

It was perfectly located for what we needed and significantly cheaper, and with more modern facilities than competing Premier Inn and Travelodge options. The rooms are in a recently renovated building adjacent to the main pub. The main pub is where breakfast is served on a morning, and cooked to order. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the housekeeper cooked and amazing breakfast!! The rooms were really comfortable and surgically clean, and as you’d expect with a newly renovated building, the en-suite facilities were stunning.

As much as the room (room 5) and the en-suite were beautifully renovated, the Wi-Fi was poor and the en-suite shower didn’t work properly. The Wi-Fi coverage in the room was intermittent and therefore all the internet TV options available (Netflix etc) were hit and miss…(I got halfway through a film one night and it suddenly stopped). This wasn’t just a one off, this appeared to be every evening after 11pm - it was as though as soon as the pub closed the internet was switched off. The en-suite shower pressure dropped off completely after about 30 seconds and in order to clean yourself , you had to keep turning the shower off and on again so the system built pressure up to allow water to drop from the shower head. When the issue was reported to staff on day one of a three day stay, sadly nothing was immediately done about it. I wasn’t offered an alternative room and even when I demonstrated the fault to the owner on check out, I wasn’t offered a reduction in my bill that had been paid in full, in advance.

A pub with rooms is always a gamble based on how far the rooms are from the bar. This is obviously a fantastic pub with a great clientele but when you’re trying to sleep and the action is right below you it’s hard. Not totally negative but I think a warning on your website to advise things might be noisy up to about 12-30 would give people an informed decision on whether to book

We booked this as a stop en route to elsewhere.

When we saw the pub’s location on a busy corner and saw that there would be live music starting at 9pm we didn’t even go in. We knew we would not like it.
