Old Town Gem - Castle Dark History Uni

The location was fantastic! We were able to walk to everything we had planned.

Parking was a bit confusing and the property itself felt a bit outdated or could use some upgrading.

Clean, apartment had everything we needed, no issues with the communication with the owner, easy access to the local attractions.

It was an excellent base for exploring Edinburgh and nearby areas. I visited with my sister and there was plenty of space for both of us. It would have been nice to have some instructions for the kitchen stove, but we managed to use is anyway. Also the shower system was a bit odd and the doors of the shower cabin did not shut properly, but this did not bother us much. Instructions on getting in were great! We enjoyed our visit :)

This is an old student residential building that was converted into small flats and the location is excellent, right in the centre, walking distance from attractions such as the Royal Mile and the Edinburgh Castle. There are a few restaurants very close and a Tesco Express around the corner. The owner was easy to reach and helpful when needed. It was quite good value, considering the location.

The flat needs a bit of attention. The shower doors don't close properly, one of the kitchen panels is falling off. The hot water in the kitchen is not straightforward. The window in the bedroom gets a bit stuck. The worse part was the fitted sheet provided for the sofa bed being way too small. It was for the children, so we sort of made due, but it wasn't the most comfortable situation. This is a specific problem, but not ideal for people with dust mite allergy as there are carpets everywhere - but the flat was clean.
