Great location, though the late night/early morning was noisy because of drunken young folks coming out of the bars (until 3:30 am). Nothing the property owner could do about such behavior, of course, and keeping the double windows closed helped but the sound. Beds were adequate, but not great. Otherwise, the place was fine.

Ivy was a wonderful host. Communication was clear and her home was absolutely perfect and comfortable. The location was perfect, and walkable to all main tourist sites. We literally were in the heart of the city and Royal Mile. It was nice to step out the door and be right in the hustle and bustle of edinburgh. Very cool.

A perfect wee apartment right around the corner from all the action. A “hidden” entrance off South Bridge unlocks & locks behind you for security, then up the winding staircase a couple of flights to the apartment entrance. When we opened the door it was exactly as listed. A clean, fresh, comfortable place with all the amenities. Out front you can see the shops. Out back we were serenaded by a man with a guitar in a window across the street. The street below had pubs, restaurants & cafes & we found many many more everywhere we walked. We grabbed some groceries just up the street & had breakfast & snacks each day as we prepared for our next adventure. The beds were super comfortable & it was nice to have the extra space to sit in the mornings for coffee & evenings for snacks after touring. There is a chain lock on the door which we locked whenever we were in the apartment. When we left for the day or at night when we went to bed, we locked the actual deadbolt lock which is down low at the bottom of the door (just swing the wee cover over & use key to lock yourself in). Easy! Communication with the host was super easy & fast. A great place to stay while in Edinburgh & I am glad we found it!

We stayed in this apartment for three nights. There were five of us, sharing two bedrooms and a living room. We had a very pleasant experience. The apartment is comfortable. The location is very central and close to tourist attractions and restaurants. There's a supermarket right next door and a bus stop. The apartment is a bit vintage, as seen in the photos.

Nice and clean, very close to everything, well stocked apartment. Would highly recommend. Would be useful with a little more details how to unlock the door, which was a lock very low down. Maybe an extra couple of fans would have helped. We had a few fairly warm days.Would definitely recommend.

We spent 3 wonderful days to visit the city. The appartment was just perfect for 3 friends looking for a central place. Very clean and surprisingly quiet for such a central location. Great host. Easy check-in. I would highly recommend.

We stayed at this VRBO for a family trip and found both positives and challenges. The location is very central, which made it easy to walk to many attractions. However, the building itself is very old and in need of upkeep, and unfortunately, the entrance felt unsafe at times — we had to step over a group of intoxicated individuals sitting right on the doorstep, which was uncomfortable, especially with children.Inside, the apartment offered a decent amount of space, but it would really benefit from some updates. The floors and bathroom were quite worn, and small touches — like providing a new sponge and new cookware in the kitchen — would have helped. We were also disappointed that there weren’t enough towels for our family, and with no dryer available, washing and hanging towels to dry during our stay became inconvenient.Overall, while younger travelers who don’t mind roughing it a bit might find the location appealing, I wouldn’t recommend this rental for families or anyone seeking a more comfortable and secure experience. With some attention to both the property and the surroundings, this apartment could have a lot of potential.

This flat was so comfortable, very clean and the best location! The communication with the owners were great and included photos of location, flat access & other information. Don’t hesitate to book this VRBO. You won’t be disappointed!! JA
