Back in time in this beautifull home!

The house is sooo pretty! Really beautifull and with an authentic touch. We played old songs to top the feeling to be back in time and had a great time there. It is big too, much more space then we needed. We felt like royalty staying in this comfortable house. It is really a good deal for the price we paid.

We were asked to pay a deposit which we did not have to pay in the end. We understand there is a risk for people to rent out their place, but it did not feel nice to feel the mistrust of the hosts, while we are really neat. It worked out very well after talking to the host. So in the end there was no problem at all. We were disapointed that the fireplace was blocked. We booked the place mainly because of it and is was minus zero outside so the warmth would have been really nice and cosy. The gasheater was less comfortable. We did not use the livingroom because it was not warm enough, so we stayed in the kitchen.

The cottage itself is very cute out in the countryside. Close to Point Du Hoc and Omaha Beach. The yard is great for kids, dogs, and parking was easy.

When we arrived, there was an alarming amount of flies trapped, or dead in the bedrooms and kitchen, one windowsill easily had upwards of 50 flies. The owners later offered to remove the dead flies, saying that was part of staying in the countryside. There were also several fees that were not included in the booking details. A 60€ cleaning fee, (we paid 50€ because of a typo from the owners), 10€ per bed for linens, and if you went over their allowed 5€ per day for heating there were additional fees. Additionally, we had to go out and buy soap and toilet paper because there was not any hand soap in the house, and not enough toilet paper. We had to rent linens, pay the cleaning fees, totaling 80€ on top of our booking fees. We had to remove dead flies and deal with the trapped ones swarming the house, pay extra for toiletries. Just a bit frustrating and disappointing as things quickly add up.

Perfekter Urlaub!

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus in toller Lage und idealer Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge z.B. an die Strände von UTAH Beach und OMAHA Beach. Ein sehr freundlicher Gastgeber, der viele Tipps hatte und uns schon vor Ankunft alle Fragen beantwortet hatte, die wir hatten. Super!
