Disappointing
Bed was huge and comfy but the duvet only as wide as the bed. Toaster kept tripping the electricity and the host provided a new one the next day.
Highlighted was "Free Parking" but parking was a nightmare. Restricted parking from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday during school term being opposite a school. This meant moving the car at 8am to Tesco, 7 minutes up the road for a maximum of 2 hours, until ready to go out for the rest of the day. Unable to return to park outside the house until 6pm. Fortunately it was then possible to park. Not so much a cottage as 2 up/2 down terrace, it was tired and in need of a revamp. Easy to slip on the mats. The curtain pole fell down when closing the curtains.

Great sofa and fireside
Do not be put off by the area and exterior of the cottage. The cottage is well equipped and is in walking distance of the coastline and nature reserve. Climbing, walking and places of interest to visit are easily accessible with a car. Despite the residential area it was very peaceful and quiet. People are friendly and facilities are nearby. Despite my comments i had an amazing few days leaving feeling restored rested and some regret at leaving .
I like sitting outside with a book and a glass of wine but the court yard was full of weeds and a rusty barbecue. This is a facility that is important to me in order to fully enjoy my stay and i felt unable to access this as it felt too uncomfortable . Visually this was unpleasant and disappointing . Not like the photo. The milk in the fridge was off and lounge carpet badly stained.

The location!! The beach and walk along the coast line and day out into windermere
Everything! It is not a cottage but more an end terrace house. It is tired and dated and needs upgrading badly. The backyard would be nice if it was done properly. Instead, it's got wheelie bins, rusted table and chairs, and overgrown with weeds. Beds are uncomfortable, house smelt foisty when you enter, tv is too small and the couch basically fits 2 people to be comfortable. Have no idea how you would seat 4/5 people if sitting socialising. The idea of a bunk bed fails me terribly. No logs were provided, and we had 2 trips to the nearest shop to buy these. The whole place felt unclean, even the outdated bathroom. It would be really nice if they invested money into the place to give it character and not leave it looking shabby and in a poor state. Every room had pest control plug-ins! Bottle of ant spray in the back garden.. safe to assume an ant problem! Be careful where you park, i parked on a side street to be met by an unpolite neighbour telling me to move my car! The streets aren't permit holders only, but the residents clearly don't take well to nonlocals.

Would have been nice to have an extra small towel each for hair washing purposes!

Little disappointing
Liked that they provided a stair gate it was definitely needed as our child enjoys having adventures. Bed was comfortable. Lovely bottle of red wine on our arriival. Area was nice and some nice coves around that were quiet. Millom museum was nice to go to and the restaurant by the station was fantastic the food was great and value for money :-)
I would say if you have any young children it isn't really the place for you. The stairs are quite steep and there is a bit of a gap on the stairs on the right as you climb up. The toliet and bath are downstairs and think its needs a bit of a upgrade i.e. flooring etc as it looked a bit mouldy. There isn't really any dining space, the table was small and under the stairs so can hit head easily... it was difficult as we as a family love to sit around the table and chat whilst having meals rather than having it on our knee. I wouldn't say it was big enough for 6 people more like 4 but if your walkers and want a cheap place to stop then this would be ideal.

lovely little place
Beds were comfy and big! property had a lovely quirky vibe. Host was helpful and responsed straight away to any questions.
Not very clean, no banister so 74 year old mum had to sleep on sofa as couldn’t get up the stairs!

A gorgeous cottage in an equally gorgeous village
A real home from home. Cosy, comfortable and extremely well equipped. Brilliant idea with the key box outside and we loved the little touches, such as ‘Hey Google’ and zillions of tv channels to choose from.
nothing - we loved it all
