The house is lovely, very cosy and very well located.
The dishes and cutlery all had to be cleaned before we used them. The microwave was filthy and the oven didn't work to temp.

There was nothing you could dislike.

The children loved the artwork on the walls
It was far too small for 5 people and a dog. No outside space for the dog. Living space was tiny and way too cramped with all of us in there

Betty's Beach Hut at Haverigg beach.
Also, leaving the house.
All of it!
So, the instructions for entering the property are straightforward enough, check in time is after 4pm, this is due to the terraced house being opposite a school, which is fine.
Upon entering the property, you are immediately hit with the perfumed air of a plug-in air freshener which is trying, unsuccessfully, to hide the scent of a pack of wet dogs which have been lounging on the sofa and rug. If you do sit on the sofa, be warned, you too will smell like a wet dog. The throw that covers the sofa, doesn't feel or smell like it has ever been laundered. There is a heavily stained cushion on the sofa, which seems to have been used to wipe the floor!
We then move on to the kitchen, which is compact as described. What isn't described is how filthy it is, I wouldn't want to eat or drink in there. The oven and hob need professional cleaning as the owner clearly doesn't know how to clean the oven, in fact, it could do with a full deep clean.
The bathroom is at the back of the house on the ground floor, past the kitchen. When we first arrived the toilet seat was loose, my other half had to fix this. The shower works, but the cleanliness is more than questionable. Again, this needs a full deep clean, the seals around the shower enclosure are full of mould and need replacing, and the heads are filthy. The shower door doesn't close, it will come off the track as I discovered. Towels are provided, however, they're not in good condition. I have never stayed anywhere that provided towels with holes in them.
Next, we move to the stairs, be aware that these are steep and narrow.
The bedrooms are a decent size, but again the smell of wet dog permeates the main bedroom as there is a rug in there, which doesn't smell clean. The bed is comfortable but the bedding needs replacing as the sheets are bobbly. Also, a few marks on the sheet were noticed.
I had booked to stay for 2 nights, we left after the first night and didn't return.

The stairs are very steep. The rooms were quite dark. Could do with instructions on how to work the heating

Nice comfortable place to stay, not too far from Train station and Shops etc
Not much to not like really, an old Terraced house is what it is, but needed to be careful on the Stairs though

We had a great time in this charming little house. The communication with the owner went very well and there was everything there we needed. We especially appreciated the valuable tipps for hikes in the Lake District area. Millom is a great starting point for the Lake District as there are also stunning beaches in short driving distance - ideal for vacations with kids. And it's a very friendly community that will help you out. We got to know a lot of people.
Well, we didn't bother at all but the house isn't as newly renovated as the pictures suggest. It's an old house with lots of people using it, so don't expect a sterile environment. It's "cosy" alright 😉

Cosy, dog friendly house with great decor. Beautiful log burner. Big fridge, washing machine, modern heating. Lovely local Chinese take away food. Relatively good location.
Scratched kitchen pans. Empty plastic bottles under the bed in the master bedroom. Bad sound isolation, quite noisy neighbours. Gaming console as described in the guide was not connected even with new batteries.

Good location for the purposes of my work, and easy to find and park in the street adjacent. Nice and easy key collection from the safety box as i arrived late, and easy to check out. The bed was very comfortable. I also liked the book case to have a nosy at.
It was noisy from the neighbouring houses, particularly at number 3 which sounded like they were having a party on Monday night until late which kept me awake. I think this is partially to do with the floor jsut being floorboards with some holes present so easy for sound to travel through. I imagine it would be cold in the winter. Some of the utensils next to the hob were a little dirty and there was a smell in the house that seemed to be air freshners trying to cover up smoke and dog smell.

There werent spare keys on the table as listed, there were no toilet rolls and the bins in the kitchen were full of rubbish.

The house was fine. Just what we needed for a base. Clean and tidy.
The location was poor. Whilst the walks were stunning there was nowhere to go for an evening meal locally and there was alot if abuse from locals who were shouting out of their cars. Outside one of the pubs people were openly smoking weed.

The house was a real home from home. The house was very clean on arrival. Lots of space for us as a family of 5. The house was well equipped with plenty of plugs. Having a washing machine was a real advantage ! We loved our stay and hope to come back soon

You can find biscuits and milk at your arrival, together with coffee, tea, washing up liquid, bin bags, etc.
Almost everything… The stairs are way too steep and it’s quite dangerous to stay in the house with small children and or elderly people as the toilet is downstairs (imagine having to use the toilet in the middle of the night). We needed to wash all the crockery and all the cutlery before using it. It was disgusting! It doesn’t have a table for a family to eat together. You can only find a tiny table where you can eat two at a time if there’s nobody else in the kitchen (otherwise there’s not enough room). The wifi hardly ever works and the signal in the area is very bad. The furniture are very old. The oven and hubs in the kitchen make a terrible noise because they are extremely old. It’s got two bedrooms, not 3 as it’s advertised. And a very long etcetera…

The bed was comfy, but we left in the middle of the night.
The house itself is a health hazard, rugs that I myself tripped over. The stairs are very steep and dangerous. My Wife has sprained her ankle really badly. There were youths out the front of the property most of the night and we could smell weed. We have stayed in a lot of places, this has to be the worst place ever. The stairs are so steep and so dangerous. We ended up packing up in the middle of the night and driving home to Scotland after her injured ankle. Disappointed beyond words, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
