Cottage was next door to the pub where we collected the keys at the bar. The staff member was very polite and welcoming. After a drink she then took us into the cottage and gave us a quick tour and showed us the heating controls. Could not have asked for a more pleasant welcome.

This cosy cottage has become our regular place to stay when visiting family in Dalton over the last few years. It's extremely convenient, warm, cosy, clean and big enough for our needs. There's a great kitchen and, of course, very good pub food right next door.
We were happy to see some improvements since our last visit a year ago. However, the upstairs bathroom could do with a mirror above the basin and some better lighting.

Lovely cottage, nice classic decor, good facilities, everything that was needed.
Great location, the pub next door had friendly staff, good food and a lovely beer garden.
The main bedroom was massive, a double bed, wardrobes, 2 sets of drawers and a single bed with room for more. Two bathrooms which were great and the hard floors took away the worrying about the dogs. The cottage itself was very dog friendly, as was the pub next door.
Good location too, we walked up the street a few times where there were a couple of shops, pubs, take aways etc.
We also walked to Furness Abbey, which was lovely.
Only 20-30 minutes away from tourist attractions such as the lakeside and hatherwaite railway, Lakeland motor museum and others.
The only thing that was slightly disappointing was that the garden wasn't secure as stated. There was a wall at the end which was about 1.5ft so the dogs could get out easily and we had to keep them on leads in the garden and couldn't just have the door open.
Also the bed in the main room could do with upgrading as it doesn't feel overly secure.

We liked everything about the cottage. It was clean inside, and bedrooms were tidy well equipped with towels and bathroom same. The kitchen was equipped well with clean cutlery.
It could have blinds in the kitchen patio doors at night it is dark and would be nice if it was covered. The ceiling in the sitting room started to leak water. My husband was mopping and said he nearly slipped. So that needs to be repaired. Otherwise, everything else in the sitting room seemed nice. Thanks.

Just spent the weekend here with some friends and my Dad while exploring the Lakes on motorbikes and all 4 of us were beyond happy with this as a stay over spot. The cottage was really lovely and had exactly what you'd need. The decor is really nice, the kitchen and bathrooms seemed modern and of high quality. The adjoined pub is a beautiful location where we spent our evenings, the food was incredible and prices were very reasonable. Would 10000% come back!
The barman with the long hair and beard could be a bit more friendly but it was hot and he was at work so we'll let him off

Location was great, lovely area, lots of history and really nice flowers around. Pub next door was very busy, food was lovely, reasonably priced and good portions too. Cottage garden was great for the dog and a quiet place to sit. We had fabulous weather as well which was a bonus. There was everything we needed in the cottage, we had a lovely 2 night stay.
The information on Booking.com was outdated and confusing. In one area it stated no charge for the dog, in another it stated there was. We paid £10 for 2 nights for the dog which we didn't mind but this was clarified after booking by the property and paid on arrival. There are two bathrooms which we didn't realise until we got there. The only thing we missed slightly in the cottage was a dishwasher but not much of an issue for two nights.

Excellent cottage attached to the Brown Cow pub. Very clean and well equipped kitchen ( apart from no chopping board or spatula/fish silce ). Excellent shower. Brown Cow pub food is pretty good with huge portions.

Very spacious accommodation. Dog friendly. We stayed on a chilly autumn night and the central heating was easy to work and very warm. Comfortable lounge with smart tv. Everything very clean. Good pub next door. We had evening meal there and enjoyed it. The pub and accommodation are tucked away in a picturesque quiet corner and the pub is not rowdy. We had no noise from the pub next door. Overall excellent.
Nothing really. Some of the furnishings are a bit dated, but as long as you can survive without a brand new kitchen, this is clean and comfortable dog friendly accommodation that is nicely placed for the south lakes. The staff are great and its super value for money.

Comfy, big bedroom. Cosy downstairs. Big kitchen table to sit round playing games (provided). Downstairs bathroom as well as upstairs. Kids loved tv in bedroom. 10 mins away from safari park.
Only white blinds, no curtains.

The location we had dogs it was ideal for them
As it was an old property not I deal for an someone with walking issues or an elderly person who had a walking issue and needed a stick . there was a step between bathroom and bedroom the same and kitchen & lounge which you could easily fall over if you were not used to the step being there.

The cottage was fabulous and had everything we needed plus lots of extras! Within 10 minutes of entering we were looking to see if we could book for next summer but was already sold out. Unsurprising as the property really is a hidden gem! We only stayed for one night at ate in the pub, the food was a lovely and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. If we can find availability we hope to come back!

Great location, garden, rooms, was very dog-friendly, and a pub that serves real ales on the door-step 👍!

Location is perfect with good pub next door.
Kitchen and Bathrooms look newly refurbished and were very good.
Double Bed was very squeaky. Getting on and off it or rolling onto other side made a lot of creaking noises that would wake others in the room

Absolutely beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Had everything you needed and more. It was clean and comfortable in a lovely traditional cottage with modern touches.

Garden was lovely in the sun watching the birds nesting, the cottage was lovely and well equipped.
The double bed was comfortable but the wooden frame had loose bolts and was quite squeaky.

location was lovely, easy enough to find. Parking was fine in the pub car park tho you will need to check if you need a code to get out of it on a morning if you intend going out early.
The upstairs shower was amazing - has to be the worlds most powerful shower ever.
Large lawned garden ideal for kids to play out in, have dinner or chill
If you were a large family this would hit a good price point - not so much for a lone traveller on this occasion.
The main big bed was super comfy with a topper on it all the other single beds looked a bit saggy in the middle - glad i am the grown up..
bathroom upstairs and downstairs so great for families or if you dont want to keep going upstairs to the loo!
I thought the kitchen needed either a really good clean or a really good make over - very tired looking making it look grubby.
The tap was broken as someone else has said, the cooker oven didn't work either. Tho, that maybe my ineptitude and a lack of instructions.
The pans/cooking tins need replacing and one actually the handle fell off when it was full as they are a bit past their best - sorry put it in the bin.
If you do have a dog be aware that the garden is not secure at the far end but its a lovely space to let your four legged friend out.
None of the TVs upstairs works - would be better just to remove them - kids wont miss them and will be fine on tablets/phones as the wifi was fab.
Step in the kitchen needs some warning tape on it that's big drop down if your not ready for it - young children will need to be watched

Great, characterful place to stay for family + dog. Ideal little grassed space with table out the back to sit and for the dog to relax. Clean, modern sleeping spaces with great shower and good heating. It had everything you could want on a stay away. Location was great and Dalton has some easy to walk to takeaways and eat out places from The Brown Cow.
Beds were too soft for us and perhaps the kitchen could do with a wee clean up in the cupboards.
