Townend Apartment August 2023

Lovely well equipped, spacious apartment. Very comfy beds.

The only thing I would say is that the stairwell going up to the apartment is very dark at night and could do with more lighting.

Diabolical treatment throughout- avoid this company at all costs.

Couldn’t tell you as we couldn’t get in- the lock was defective and we didn’t get chance to use it.

The fact that no one from the property management company could give us a straight answer and did not seem to speak to each other. When we couldn’t get in they booked us into a hotel for the night. No issues with that, and you could call that customer service. However, they tried putting us up in the Lochway Motel. This was something out of an Alfred Hitchcock film. It was run down and with out a dedicated staff to run it- the receptionist had to drive in to deal with us. We did not feel safe and decided to turn it down and make our own arrangements.

Perfect location

The location of the property was fantastic. We have family living in the area. It was close to the shops and a short walk from the park.

The lighting outside the property to go down the stairs was more or less non existent. We have to use our phone torches to get down the stairs. The light outside the front door would only stay on for a matter of seconds. Unfortunately we were unable to use WiFi as there was an external fault. This led to us not being able to watch the TV.

Nice but need improvement

Decorated nicely and spacious even with the front room being a kitchen/dining/living room the space was used well.

The apartment isn't advertised as on the second floor which is an issue as I struggle with stairs and that being the only way to the property. Front door was battered and in definite need of some TLC, we found for peace of mind the need to close the secondary door also. The apartment is decorated very nicely and you can see time has been taken to make it look good. But with no central heating rooms are difficult to warm up with the portable heaters provided. One of the windows in the front bedroom was also stuck meaning at night the room got very cold.

Perfect position for visiting family

Good position for visiting our family. Very clean inside, everything seemed brand new. Would use again.

The front door is awful, please change! A mirror on the hall next to the plug sockets would be useful.

Spiral staircase to the top.....

While the entrance to the apartment leaves a lot to be desired when inside it has been very well refurbished to a comfortable standard and was very clean. We used this accommodation as a base to explore the area and it is more than suitable for that if you are looking to make breakfast and head off for the day & have somewhere to sleep at night.

The apartment is at the top of the building which I don't recall seeing in the description. After going through an alleyway the steps leading to it are a stone spiral staircase (it is an old building) which wasn't ideal with 2 small children and a 3rd on the way. Also when we arrived the front door had sections boarded up where someone had smashed glass and removed a section of the door below... I felt uneasy when we first got there. The road noise from the front bedroom was very loud, as if the windows were opened. Just a note.... take a hairdryer with you as there isn't one provided.
