Not worth the angst.
A lovely renovated house with beautiful views of the lake and mountains. The decor was nice and it had a lovely Italian feel to it. The restaurant, less than 100m away, was very handy and had delicious food.
We were told after a couple of messages back and forth that Stefano would meet us at the property to let us in. We got there and no one was there. After a couple of messages and a phone call and half an hour of waiting we were told that they had arranged a self check in for us and the keys were there the whole time.
The beds in the 2 bedrooms are extremely hard and we had to sleep on the small sofa bed in the front entry as it was more comfortable than the bedrooms, but still very uncomfortable. We booked for 7 nights however after not sleeping for the first night due to the beds we wanted to leave early and get a refund for 3 of the nights. The manager said no and was not interested in any discussion. Ignoring my message asking what he meant by his comments to us. He didn't believe that the beds were the issue.
After sending a message to booking.com at 4 am after 3 sleepless night they stepped into see if they could get the manager to be reasonable. They couldn't get him to be reasonable so they raised a complaint against the property in their system and left it in our hands. After a bit of back and forth with the manager and us he gave us another option to change to for the last 3 nights. This was a really disappointing experience for us as we paid a lot of money for this property and couldn't sleep well there. It did spoil our trip.
Just as a heads up. What is not really clear is that the stairs up to the bedrooms are very steep. It only had a rope for a hand rail, which you can see from the photos. Fine for us but if you had elderly family staying with you it would be very dangerous for them to climb the stairs to the bedrooms.
Another heads up. The car was tricky to get in and out of the car space. It's manageable but I had to get out of the car each time going in and out because the car would scrape on the ground. It is steep and a very narrow road gives you little space to manoeuvre.
