Great last minute overnight stay

At first I was disappointed it was continental, but it sure didn’t disappoint. The location was superb, and it was quiet. It was spotless, especially the en-suite.

Warm, welcoming and a wonderful experiance.

On arrival received a warm welcome. The room was very comfortable and very clean and the TV had access to Disney+, Netflix and other media channels if you so wished, also a small fridge was provided for any milk for drinks or other items that needed chiling. The restaurants food was excellent and I spent every evening in there, I can recommend the 'big bestie' a 22ox gammon steak. The place itself is close to the town center and, if your a Queen of the South fan, it's close to the football grounds. Overall well worth the money.

A great find - we would stay here again

We had a very friendly welcome and it was easy to check in. All staff we spoke to were so helpful, nothing was too much to ask. We loved having a fridge in the room and pints! of milk, which is so much better than the small cartons. Small touches such as quality chocolate bars, shower and shampoo available made it an extra special stay.

The hot water took a while to warm up, especially in the shower. A note on the information sheet to run it for a while would have been useful advice. We almost popped down to say it wasn't working but we gave it a bit more time and it was ok. Also, we received a fresh mini soap everyday, I would have been happy using the same one for the duration of our stay. We missed out on eating in the restaurant, which was a shame as the menu looked lovely.

The staff both in the bar and the hotel were really friendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. As it was Christmas the reception area and bar also looked really well decorated. Felt safe as a solo traveler.

A nice surprise

Surprisingly good facilities. Edenbank hotel was a very nice surprise at the end of a stressful day. I did check in quite late, but the staff were accomadating and pleasant, and they aren't wrong about it being a hidden jewel. It's very charming and old fashioned but that in my mind added to it's appeal. I was actually sad I didn't book longer, and I don't say that often.

Would not stay there again.

Property was excellent, clean and well maintained. Outside area good. Enjoyed the breakfast which was delivered to the room each evening. Plentiful and tasty. Meal we had in the restaurant the night it was open was good.

The restaurant was closed Monday and Tuesday so no where to eat. No staff in the building those two days. We seemed to be the only people in the large building which felt strange and uncomfortable.

Excellent Hotel With Friendly Staff.

The twin room I stayed in was very comfortable with a large TV that had Disney+, Netflix and other channels. Restaurant staff were very friendly and the quality of the food was excellent along with the chilled Pint of Tennets that accompanied my meal. Great all round quality and service.

We like the hotel and its location, so will probably stay again.

A Continental breakfast was put in the room the night before. What was provided was quite a good selection of breakfast items. It was nice to have fresh milk for tea/coffee.

We would have preferred breakfast downstairs in the dining area, now that all Covid restrictions have been lifted.

Comfortable room well located for accessing the town very easy to find from the married in.

Great place to stay and excellent food

Good location with a short walk into Dumfries centre. Large rooms with tea and coffee making facilities. Continental breakfast is delivered to the room each evening which was unusual but there was plenty of it and a good variety. The food in the restaurant was very good and the portions were great,
