We really enjoyed our 3-night stay. The property is beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with everything we needed provided. The location was great, and the hot tub was a real highlight. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely welcome touches by the host , Welsh cakes and prosecco plus milk, tea and coffee provided.

Very quirky outlay and a great outside space.
Did require some maintenance but was ok.

Quirky decor and outdoor space.
I feel location was misadvertised. The accommodation was a mid terraced house in a street in Merthyr. It was not located in the bike park or in Brecon itself.

It was really quirky, spacious and clean. The beds were super comfortable and the hot tub was really nice. There is a great seating area outside for social drinks.
An additional toilet would have been great, but we made it work

A warm and welcoming house. James and Angela did everything to make the stay an enjoyable one with champagne and welsh cakes on arrival. The additional hot tub was a bonus after a long days walking.
Everything was great

First time in Wales, we used this apartment as a base for day trips.
Located in a quiet street but 5 minutes drive to local shops and restaurants.
Clean and tidy and fully equipped. Good VFM.

We stayed here as it was to be near Bike Park Wales. Not only was it near BPW, but it was also very near everything else - shops, pubs, countryside walks, Trago Mills, the list goes on. In summary, the location is awesome and good for all, no matter your preferences. BPW was full on, and we were all shattered and a little broken afterwards, so the hot tub was a welcome addition. The beds were all extremely comfortable and the decor of the whole house was very cool.

The house is so quirky, we loved what the owners had done to the inside and outside of the house. Everywhere was very clean and the beds were lovely and comfortable. We were welcomed with a lovely card from the owner and Welsh cakes and milk plus a birthday card and bottle of fizz for my husbands 40th birthday - we were blown away with this kind gesture! Sitting in the hot tub in the evening surrounded by lights was just fantastic! My husband went to Bike Park Wales whilst we were here which was just down the road and there was a great shed to keep his pride and joy safe when he wasn't riding! Thanks for a wonderful stay!
We were just a little confused about the recycling and bins... We hope we got it right!!!

We chose this accommodation for it's access to Brecon and Bleanavo World Heritage Site, plus it was dog friendly and we could let it for a part week. As its name suggests this property is ideal for groups of mountain-bikers, but we enjoyed the imaginitive presentation of the house. It was comfortable and quiet while we were there. If we wanted to stay in this area again, I would certainly come back.
Our only minor gripe was that some of the cooking equipment was a little worn and there was a lack of sharp knives. Some information about the kitchen appliances would also be helpful, but we muddled through.

The house itself was clean and we liked the quirky decor in the house and in the back yard, the hosts have obviously made a lot of effort with this. The hosts emailed lots of ideas about local places to visit and walk, were responsive when we contacted them about access and returned our damage deposit promptly.
The property description is deceptive as it suggests it is more rural or has access to surrounding greenery and activities - described as “offering a tennis court and terrace James place @bike park wales is in an area where guests can engage in cycling hiking and squash “
'Facilities' are listed as :
Fishing, terrace, canoeing, No smoking throughout, tennis court, mini golf, hiking, internet
This suggests these facilities are on site, as there is a separate heading below of 'Popular attractions nearby' whereas the only way to access everything on the list apart from the terrace (decked back yard with sitting area and hot tub) and the internet, was by car.
The website description and photos give the impression of a rural setting or a property on a holiday home site, so we certainly did not expect the property to be in a rather deprived residential housing estate with no greenery and building works within 40 yards, there was a lot of dog poo and litter on the pavements, we overlooked a skip from the front bedrooms, and the neighbours back garden covered in dog excrement from the back bedroom.
We were also able to hear the neighbours talking through the thin walls and the paint of the bathroom ceiling was peeling.
We left after 1 night because we didn’t feel our car was safe in the public car park at the end of the road and despite the metal front door and the heavily barricaded access to the rear courtyard we didn't feel our belongings were safe.

Very central location to access Brecon Beacons. Very quirky property, very clean and quick communication with owners who provided lots of tips of what to see in the area.

Wasn't a breakfast
The front door was extremely hard to get open. The coded lock did not open the door unless you pulled hard on the door handle. The stairway had no railing so was difficult for some to use. The shower floor was very slippery and there was no shower mat to help you keep from falling. The beds were hard as rocks resulting in bruised hips and fitful sleep.

Beautifully decorated house close to Bike Park Wales. We had everything what we needed and beyond. Beds and bedding was great, very quiet area. Communication with Angela and James was great. They left for us some biscuits, which was a very nice touch and also they allowed us to leave the bikes in the shed after check out. The hot tube after the ride was a great bonus! Value of renting this place is great! We were group of 8 people and really wanted to go on the budget, but if you want to feel more comfortable you should book the house for 4-6 people; there is only one bathroom in the house. This house would be definitely our first choice when we return to BPW!

Everything you could want was there! The outside area was brilliant and the hot tub was an added bonus. The decoration was great, plenty of room for the 7 of us. The hosts were amazing from start to finish, kept us updated with all the information we needed and very helpful throughout. Lovely little touches like milk in the fridge and even a birthday gift waiting for us when we arrived. We were visiting Bike Park Wales which was only 10 minutes away and the house had a secure locked container in the garden for the bikes storage. Overall amazing!
Nothing! Everything was spot on!

Distance to bike park wales, and rear garden was great to hang out in.
Bunk beds, but can't be helped that's what we booked!

They have done an excellent job styling the property which is very unique. The property was also very clean and tidy when we arrived. James was extremely helpful and we got the pleasure of meeting him, and he is only around the corner if you needed anything. He also emailed with a number of recommendations and things to do which is great. The property is located in an easy driving distance to all the local attractions around Brecon. The garden & hot tub was a great too.

Great house for a break. Need a car but lots of great things to do nearby. Went to zip world which was fab and for day trips to the Brecon and Pontsticill reservoir. Hosts were great at sending recommendations for places to go and eat and there was lovely treats on arrival which we demolished!

The hosts communication was brilliant, they called us before we arrived and made us (and the dog) feel very welcome!! They also assured us they would be there if we had any issues (which we didn’t!) The property itself is very quirky and interesting to stay in but also has a very homely feel. The hot tub is brilliant especially after a long day of hiking, whilst it’s a terraced house, the garden has been done to make it as private as possible and you often forget you have neighbours at all!
Nothing it was a lovely stay!

A quirky place to stay, well thought out for a holiday home. Hot tub was a good addition, and the outside space is nice. Location is convenient for getting to Brecon and Bikepark Wales. Secure shed for bikes. The fish and chip shop round the corner is very good. Owner was friendly and available. Property was clean. I would definitely stay again.
Minor gripes. The area is quite run-down, which I don't mind, but the (friendly) neighbour advised us not to leave anything on show in the car, and there was some smashed car glass on the street - so just be sensible. The code lock for the front door seems a good idea, but actually it feels insecure as it is not a high quality lock and could be easily broken. The property is designed to sleep up to 8, but there was not enough crockery and cutlery supplied for 8 so we had to take turns eating meals and washing up in between.

We really liked the interior. We thought it was a very quirky place, really cool decorations and design style. Location wise, it was close to the retail park, with fast food restaurants and lots of other shops, so quite convenient. Last but not least, the hosts were amazing! Although we communicated via email only, they were super helpful and welcoming, gave many suggestions for places to visit in Brecon Beacons and even left a welcome pack for us and our dog.
The bed in our bedroom was really squeaky, so getting a good night sleep was difficult. And, as someone who doesn't live in Wales, I got confused with waste recycling, and all the bins being outside, and none in the kitchen, so some instructions would've been useful :)
