Wonderful

The house is very modern and well equipped for a family stay. The high chair was missing, but I'm sure if we'd asked for one it would have been provided. As it was, we had taken our own fold up one. The location is stunning and it was lovely to watch the birds in the morning feeding at the well positioned feeders. It was wonderfully quiet and peaceful and even though the owners live next door we felt very private. The house was lovely and warm despite the bitterly cold weather and in addition to the very efficient heating there was a lovely log burner in the main lounge with logs supplied.

Although the bed myself and my husband slept in felt perfectly comfortable, our son and his partner said the mattress on the kingsize bed had felt a little thin for their personal comfort. This really was the only partially negative comment we could make about the place and we would highly recommend Freuchies Mill to anyone looking for a relaxing family vacation.

Fantastic stay here with the family. We loved the accommodation and would recommend to everyone. Peaceful and quiet location and within reach of many outdoor activities for all the family to do. Will stay again for sure. Loved it.

We liked the remoteness of the property and the grounds were beautiful, the hosts were next door if we had any problems which we didn’t have, the host was keen to have a chat and tell us of places to eat and places to visit

Home from home, you couldnt wish for a better cottage!

Fantastic spacious, warm cottage. Beautiful scenery. Cozy sunroom and sheltered wee garden for breakfast or supper. Very safe place for solo female traveler and anyone else. Nice fireplace, cozy sofas, spacious rooms, very comfortable beds and pillows, safe parking. We will definitely stay again!

The property had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. The spacious 2 story cottage itself was very well equipped and every room had all the facilities we required. We travelled as a family of 6. From being able to cook any dish to getting your clothes washed - it was perfect! The surroundings of the property was full of scenery and great for night & morning walks. The garden was huge and picturesque from the living room - daily visits from local wildlife/ birds with melodious & ambient vibes throughout the day. Within the property, there was a TV with streaming services, DVDs, Books and information guides on nearby historic sites. We loved the fact that we were so close to Scone Palace where Scottish kings were once crowned. As soon as you exit the property, you enter a land filled with high hills, waterfalls, rivers, farmland, and a similar view to parts of Switzerland. Truly a hidden gem and the perfect location for EVERYONE of all ages.

Everything about this property was perfect for me as I drive. If you do plan to travel this far into Scotland from England - ensure to shop beforehand especially if you do not drive as the nearest shops are a 20 min drive away. WiFi is a bit slow however in most natural, scenic locations it normally is. This is just an advice and not a negative. We honestly loved every second of the stay.

Fabulous house and location

The location is fabulous, and the house is fantastic for a family group of 6 adults. The house is spacious and has everything needed for a stay in the countryside. The gardens are beautiful...and the wildlife watching is great. The local Glenisla hotel 5 mins away is great for a Friday night takeaway or a Sunday lunch.

Beautiful and relaxing.

Incredibly beautiful location, friendly and helpful hosts, large modern house with all the amenities one would need. The garden was super pretty and had loads of birds, including a woodpecker. I stayed here for skiing but didn’t quite get the weather needed, but I still had a lovely time. If you stay here, you must visit Reekie Linn waterfall.

Perfect for a family weekend

Lovely, friendly hosts, beautiful property in a lovely location ideally situated for exploring. Our young family loved exploring the gardens, as well as watching the wildlife from the window. Nice secure garden for children as well as safe parking. Complimentary eggs, tea, coffee and biscuits as well as a cosy log burner. Up there with our favourite staycation spots and a firm favourite with our kids. Thank you Rob and Fiona 😀

Having a home to stay in self-catering with all amenities was very nice after staying in hotels.

Though I think there is a building code about opening upper floor windows, that would be the thing that I liked the least about anywhere we stayed in Scotland. So that is not specific to just this property.

Perfect comfortable and quiet base for cycling and walking.

Warm, cosy, spacious, well equipped, quiet, lovey outside space (deer in the garden) , garage for bikes, friendly and helpful hosts. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the local hotel a short walk away for food, drink and a warm welcome.

We loved everything about the property but it is isolated and a good 20 min drive to the nearest shop and town. The small settlement of Glenisla is not the prettiest but the wider area is wonderful with easy access to the Cairngorms and an abundance of spectacular rides and walks.

Location. Close to several hiking trails, Glenshee, Braemar etc, while at the same time an hour of drive from Dunnottar Castle and Fife. Comfy and cosy rooms. Large and very well equipped kitchen. Beautiful garden. Peaceful and quiet. Friendly and welcoming hosts.
