Delightful stay and we hope to return before too long.

The hotel exceeded our expectations and we were delighted with all aspects of our stay. We were only sorry we were only there for one night as we would have loved to sit in the bar and the lounge, but we just didn’t have the time. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. David the Manager really made us feel welcome and we chatted a few times during our stay. His knowledge of the town, and his recommendation of a place to get our evening meal was very helpful. Our room was well furnished, comfortable and warm and we would certainly like to come back again.

Peaceful, comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable.

Breakfast was excellent: great choice and quality. Breakfast staff were particularly attentive and pleasant. The room,even the standard room, was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The whole building was quite charming with a great view over the town and harbour. We stayed on a wet week in November but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Oban has several good eating places for evening meals and we liked The Oban Inn! The location was great for a short walk into the town and the ferry terminal.

We felt that the smoked fish board was over priced at £29. There was not much fish for 2 people to share. In contrast, the breakfast portions were very generous.

Very comfortable stay in a beautiful building.

The house was very pretty, well cared for, and there were lots of little additions I appreciated like the biscuits in the room, the soaps, selection of teas, and smart TV. I couldnt stay for the breakfast but the facilities looked very good.

Excellent hotel would highly recommend

Wonderful small hotel and restaurant. Gorgeous Georgian home, beautifully decorated and welcoming staff. Our room had a lovely view of Oban’s harbor. David welcomed us and was extremely knowledgeable about area, food and beverages. We walked around the charming town and then relaxed with a cocktail and dinner is the cozy dining room ( only 8 tables - so reserve) which faces the sea. A lounge is also available in which one can relax and read. We were advised that the restaurant could only do “bar food” at this time ( of year?). But the food was excellent. We had a meat lasagna preceded by an excellent appetizer of smoked fish. Room was great and comfortable beds with excellent shower. Best value of our entire trip ( Edinburgh to Highlands and Ske) and we would highly recommend this hotel.

Outstanding staff: just the right amount of friendliness. Charming. The breakfast was wonderful: a variety of high quality choices. Lovely breakfast room. The setting/location was also great: close enough to walk from the train station and into the town center but quiet and peaceful.

Excellent small hotel.

The location is delightful, a nice 10 minute walk from the train station, with beautiful views over the port. Our room was quite small, but very cozy and comfortable and the public rooms are large, comfortable and cheerful. The meals were well prepared and enjoyable. Best of all was the staff, who are all personable, kind and helpful. They know the area well and had great suggestions to help us plan our time. We especially appreciated David’s extensive knowledge of whisky!

Comfy room, friendly and very helpful staff, amazing breakfast. Home from home. Very welcoming everytime we returned to the hotel. Waitress at breakfast was fantastic, excellent service with a smile, nothing was too much trouble

The room was cold on arrival. Poor selection of red wines in the bar, what was available was not nice and overpriced, £17 for 250ml glass. Road noise from 6am, needs secondary glazing.

Gorgeous, scenic, authentic.

The Manor House is the best b&b I’ve stayed in, ever. Beautiful house, even more beautiful views, the bar and sitting room areas were delightful, and staff was beyond friendly and helpful. (They also had extremely good tips for scenic stops in the area and along our drive to Glasgow.) It all felt authentic and oldtimey in a very fun way. And the location was a short, scenic walk from the harbor area, which was excellent as well.

My group of 2 was traveling with a 3rd person who was staying elsewhere, and they were not able to accommodate her at breakfast, so we ate at a restaurant in the harbor instead. Not so much a downside as just something to be aware of as you plan your trip.

Everything here was perfect. The room was beautiful with an amazing sea view and just a ten minute walk from the station. David was charming and very helpful throughout to make our stay special. Breakfast was excellent and we had a lovely informal dinner with great wine, homemade soup and Scottish cheeses.

Beautifully located over looking Oban. Really lovely welcoming and accommodating staff. Just a short walk into Oban itself. Onsite parking was ideal and easy. Very comfortable room which was well equipped.

Peaceful enjoyable stay

We really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was really good, the room was spacious and clean with access to a hair dryer to use at a mirrored table and a fan to make the room temperature more comfortable, the staff were all very friendly and accommodating, the hotel was period and beautiful inside and out and the location was great within a 15 minute walking distance from the middle of town.

The only item that needs to be worked on is the bed. It was comfortable but slanted down towards the headboard. We did not bring this to the staff's attention and just slept with our heads towards the foot of the bed which worked just fine. Even with this minor issue I would stay here again without hesitation.
