Clen, comfortable & excellent value for money

The location was really good. A 10 minute walk into town. We both have mobility problems & walk with sticks so we were given a ground floor room with walk in shower. It was very clean & the bins were emptied & the tea & coffee replenished every day. We did not have breakfasts but most other guests did. The owners were really friendly & helpful. We enjoyed it so much we're planning on returning next year.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Maridon House, it made a great base for us to explore Oban before taking a ferry onwards.

The location was great, very easy walk from the rail station and ferry port, also close to a big Tesco and Aldi. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of hairdryers to borrow. Clean bathroom and plenty of hot water, lovely breakfast with fresh fruits and yoghurt, very friendly host. We were able to check in early which was very welcome.

Friendly and helpful host and fantastic location, particularly if using the ferry. Room small but adequate. Bed very comfortable.

Minimal toiletries provided- only hand soap and body wash. This was not an issue though just an observation.

Nice quiet location away from town. Room overlooked a very pretty garden. Comfy beds, good shower, and nice bright dining room. The innkeepers' cat is adorable.

The stairway to the room is challenging with luggage.

Quiet stay in a harbour

The place was on a hill, close enough to walk to the harbour but without noisy activities. The staff was very kind and offered warm welcome. He even helped us park in a narrow place. The bathroom was spacious. We were also allowed to leave the car there for a few hours after checkout.

The stairs were slightly narrow. Parking was tight.

Very convenient location near to Oban ferries and associated cafes. Parking outside the front door but owner had to help with getting cars in he right position for departure the following day. Very helpful owner drove us down to the port for dinner. Steep uphill walk on return.

Been picky... But missed having a wardrobe... Stayed 4 nights and got fed up looking at my clothes on hangers..... Most people appear to have very short stays so obviously wouldn't be a problem..

A great place for a stopover before catching the ferry

The important thing for me was proximity to the ferry terminal and parking available on site. In addition the bright blue paint of the outside of the property made it very easy to spot. I was able to walk into the centre of Oban easily for my evening meal.

Having only a duvet on the bed is difficult for me as they are invariably too hot. It the past places used to have bedspreads and additional blankets so I was able to remove the duvet from its cover and use the blanket/bedspread. Nowadays I carry my own bedspread and fleece when travelling by car so was able to use those. I think the current bedding "fashion" is not flexible and can be very problematic to some people. This is a general comment as most places I stay are like this.

Honest, good value place in ideal location

A good, honest property that is like an old-school B&B - you get a room with a clean bathroom and can have a very good value breakfast which has a good choice of all the necessities - juice, toast, cereals, yoghurt, fruit. It's nothing fancy but you're getting a good deal and the location is perfect for exploring Oban - a five-minute walk from the waterfront. There's free parking if you call ahead to book a spot, and the owner is friendly and helpful and managed to accommodate us even though we arrived past check-in time. There was also a friendly cat!

Staff was super friendly, room bigger than expected. Extra duvet provided, comfy&big bed, location and parking was also great.
