The location was absolutely stunning — surrounded by mountains and peaceful nature, perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring Interlaken or Jungfraujoch. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The breakfast was delicious with fresh local ingredients, and the view from the restaurant was breathtaking. The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable.

Nothing major. The Wi-Fi could be a little stronger in the room, but overall everything was wonderful.

This hotel is charming and relaxing, the location is great, and the host was wonderful.

As anticipated, this is a very Swiss chalet-type property, and it did not disappoint! The room was very spacious, and the view from the back windows was fabulous! The host was very gracious, and we discovered the first morning there that he seems to “do it all” as he obviously prepared and served a very nice breakfast. The location—between Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen—was perfect…with one little challenge…the road up to the hotel!

The road to get to Isenfluh and, of course, to the hotel was a winding, one-lane road that went through a very nice, but very long and winding tunnel. So the problem? Really no way to predict—except by oncoming headlights—when someone was coming the other way. It wasn’t horrible; just challenging!

Very clean and quiet lodging!

My 2-night stay at Hotel Waldrand was a very positive experience. Ronald is an exceptional host and interesting conversationalist. The room was very clean and well furnished. He obviously takes pride in his establishment. Isenfluh is a very quiet little village which I enjoyed. I regret that the restaurant was not open due to staffing challenges, but Ronald prepares an impressive breakfast for his guests. Would highly recommend Hotel Waldrand!

If traveling by public transportation beware that the last bus to Isenfluh for Lauterbrunnen departs around 6:30 pm.

Peaceful gem among touristic hustle

We liked everything. People say it’s a place best visited by car, but we managed perfectly well without one by planning our days in advance. The location is fantastic—away from the tourist hustle of Lauterbrunnen yet very close to various hikes. The breakfast was excellent. The room was spacious, and we had our own piece of terrace to enjoy the view of the Jungfrau. We were very lucky with the weather—it’s absolutely stunning on sunny days.

There was a slight smell in the bathroom, but it disappeared as soon as the ventilator started working. After all, it’s an old building, and a bit of smell is totally understandable. That said, the overall condition of the facilities is excellent.

Gorgeous little town and wonderful host

Ronald was amazing. We had a late check in so he left information on nthe door for us. The breakfast was great and the views were really good too.

There were strangely a ton of flies in our room, not sure why.. lol The room was a llittle noisy as you could hear the upstairs people stomping around lol

Such a great find. I really loved the view from the room (mountains) and the location (slightly off the beaten track thus not caught up with all of the tourists staying in Lauterbrunnen). The daily breakfast was great and the host was very helpful each day (provided assistance with all requests and give tips about what to go and see). It is also a very small accommodation so nice and quiet. Bed was also very comfortable, bathroom clean and the shower nice and hot. Oh, and the accommodation is right next to the Isenfluh chair-lift- amazing to go further up the mountains and hike/ride/take a scooter back to the town.

It isn't really a dislike- just keep in mind that pretty much the only way to reach this accommodation is with a hire-car. The road was a bit windy getting up there but a fun experience.

Switzerland at its best

This was our favorite stay in Switzerland! Our host was super, so friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was always wonderful. You can't beat the hotel for location if you like a quiet place with fantastic views!

The main drawback to this location is that the bus does not run as often. But there is a beautiful walking path to the village if you are up to it!

There are minor inconvenience when it comes to the location, but overall, a great experience.

I liked the overall ambiance of the hotel, the room and the location. It is very homie. Hotel also looks very clean and well taken care of. You can see the Jungfrau from the window which is awesome. The hotel staff/owner Ronny is very friendly and accommodating.

The shower is loose and fell on me multiple times during showers. To reach the hotel, you have to climb a mountain via your car or ride a bus that only go every hour and is unavailable past 6pm. The Wi-Fi is very slow and almost nonexistent. You can hear the footsteps of people from upstairs. The breakfast is also mainly bread, cold cuts, juice, tea, coffee, yoghurt and boiled egg. But since all of these are minor inconvenience for us, I would still give them an overall positive review. However, if these are issues for you, you should think carefully before booking the hotel.

Nice little Swiss home , rather cute but needs more attention to gain a few more stars

Very nice breakfast , poor owner was rushing around trying to do everything himself . The Beds where comfortable. Sadly we only ended up staying one night as the restaurant wasn’t open

Apparently we were told the restaurant was closed in an Email to us , as neither of us can read Swiss German we didn’t know . We booked through booking. Com there was nothing there mention about the restaurant for the season

Incredible!

Our stay here was absolute perfection. We were slightly nervous about the drive up to Isenfluh, but it really was not bad at all. There are plenty of pull-off spots if another car is coming and at times, the road is even wide enough for two cars. Definitely do not let the road deter you from staying here! Ronny runs the hotel and restaurant all on his own, and does an incredible job. The rooms were spotless, the breakfast was delicious, and Ronny was very considerate, knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast consisted of fresh croissants, rolls, eggs, meats and cheeses. Everything was delicious, and Ronny has your table prepared for you before you arrive to the restaurant. Most importantly- the view is breathtaking! You could dedicate an entire day to just sitting on the balcony and soaking in the view. If I am ever lucky enough to make it back to the Jungfrau region, I will never stay anywhere else.

Lovely clean and quiet stay

Very quiet and clean apartment with lovely view. Attentive and kind host. Location was convenient for us as we had a rental car. Right next to cable car up Isenfluh (slight discount with hotel guest card) and has a mountain restaurant at the top.

A wonderful rustic chalet with a nice owner who prides in his small hotel/restaurant

A very nice quaint and rustic Swiss type chalet, only 5 rooms, with a restaurant. Great view and a very nice and personable owner.

The winding very narrow drive to get there is not for the faint of heart (especially in the winter). You have to climb steep stairs with your luggage.

Very beautiful location with stunning views on the mountains. Quiet little hotel, very cozy and relaxing. The host is super friendly and helpful and put in a lot of effort. Apple Maps doesn’t show the tunnel going up to the property and takes you up dangerous roads so found it difficult to get to on the first night. However Google Maps shows the tunnel and is very easy to access this way.

The location is absolutely amazing with great views and a cable car right next to the hotel. The hotelier is brilliant and will help you with anything. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Mountain stay surrounded with spectacular view's

Spectacular view from the rooms and restaurant. During the drive up to the hotel you enter a tunnel that spirals up inside the mountain. An unbeatable entrance experience! Every day the breakfast was slightly changed to bring variety. The host attended to every wish.
