About the home

"Glen Isla Seaside" is a stunningly renovated family home in a fantastic waterfront location directly on the beach and a short walk to the supermarkets, restaurants & cafés of Cowes. Some of the many features of this home are detailed below:

Indoor Areas

Downstairs is the large central Lounge Room (with 55" smart TV, DVD player and small library of movies) that provides access to Bedrooms 2 & 3 (each with BIR), a central Bathroom (with bath, shower & toilet), Bedroom 4 with BIR and dual-access ensuite (with shower & toilet) and a short hallway to Bedroom 5. The Lounge also provides access to the rear ground floor Deck and views to the water.

Upstairs is the large open plan Kitchen (with WIP)/Dining/Lounge (with 65" smart TV) with incredible waterfront views and providing access out to the semi-covered first floor Deck, as well as Bedroom 1 which features a 40" smart TV, walk-through robe and ensuite (with shower, toilet & double vanity), as well as a separate Toilet.

Outdoor Areas

The first floor semi-covered Deck (with gas BBQ & seating for 10 people) has stunning water views and overlooks the enclosed rear yard. The ground floor covered Deck (with seating for 6 people) steps out to the rear yard, which also features an outdoor shower and with the beach just steps away through a gate in the rear fence. There is parking for 2 cars in the double carport, plus space for 2 more vehicles (cars and/or a boat) in the driveway.

Please also note the home was previously listed as being pet friendly and some reviews reference this (prior to the home being fully rebuilt/renovated) and the home no longer accommodates pets.

Kitchen

The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, Nespresso pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, etc. plus a double sink, a large fridge (plus a bar fridge), dishwasher, electric oven and induction cook top.

Heating/Cooling Systems

There are four wall mounted reverse cycle air-conditioners in the home; one each in the downstairs Lounge room, the upstairs Lounge Room and Bedrooms 1 and 5 and all three bathrooms have heat lamps.

Bedding Configuration

This home has 11 beds, accommodating up to 14 guests:

Bedroom 1 (Upstairs): One Queen bed
Bedroom 2 (Downstairs): Two sets of Single bunks
Bedroom 3 (Downstairs): One Queen bed
Bedroom 4 (Downstairs): One Queen bed
Bedroom 5 (Downstairs): Two sets of Single bunks

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Peak Periods

Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm (unless by prior arrangement). Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.

Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies

Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies. All bookings are subject to approval, pending Guest verification process - Local council restrictions are in place for this property and compliance is mandatory.

We booked this property for my mother in law's 70th celebration with our family. It was absolutely perfect! The property looks even better than its pictures. In particular, the upstairs area is very spacious, light and bright (with stunning views) - perfect for a family getaway. The dining table inside and outside accommodated us well, as did the family area. There was also a smaller family area for the kids. The outdoor upstairs balcony was gorgeous with a beautiful dining table, deck chairs and views. The downstairs balcony was great too - with easy viewing of the backyard with kids. It also had easy access to the beach (which was a few mins walk away). The bedrooms were great - good bedding options. And the gaming machines were a fun touch for the kids.Location was excellent. Very close to central Cowes but tucked away down a beautiful street. Very close to Coles, cafes, Cowes beach etc.The owners were terrific to deal with too - very responsive and helpful in the lead up and while there (for eg when we had an issue with using the stove).All in all, an excellent experience and we highly recommend!

Overall our stay was great, was a little short on linen which we did have to pay extra for so that was a bit disappointing and there was no where to play any music so we had to go and buy a little speaker but other than that it was a fabulous house, great location and very clean.

An older style property with a little quirky character. All the comforts you need including a wood burner for those chilly nights. This property had direct beach access via a rear gate and with only a short walk or 2 min drive to Cowes shops, its location is ideal.
