Old Bank Rooms

The breakfast was divine. We liked not having to worry about parking a car as we trained from London. Public transport buses and country walk from Stowe was the perfect transport.

Just had a little trouble locating the entrance- probably didn't read the instructions clearly enough -we were tired after walking from Stowe and it was dark. But once we found it all was perfect.

Beautiful room really nice place right in the heart of the village.

Only I would say was that you could hear people talking from the other room .

Great location. Easy check in and check out. Lived the breakfast in bed each morning.

The photos are very professional and do not exactly depict the rooms as they have been loved and used. Not a problem but just not an exact representation.

The location was excellent. The only good thing about the property.

Not worth the money. Too expensive for this sort of room. Needs painting and some repairs in the front door. They also say Parking as a faculty but there is no parking.

Black scuff marks all over the walls, stains on the carpet, plumbing issues in the bathroom. Emailed twice to make a complaint with photos attached, no response from the property not even an acknowledgement or apology. Has made us not want to return. Poor customer service.

Location is brilliant

The room is run down, could do with a refurb. The pictures on the website are not like the room I stayed in last night, very tired and needs updating. Had a shower this morning and the drain was blocked, so water was overflowing onto the bathroom floor. The bed was hard and the mattress topper is flat as a pancake, could do with replacing. Breakfast was ok, nothing to shout about. No staff on site, so didn’t have a clue how to get into the room first of all as my email for the code didn’t come through until later as there is no service and the WiFi is poor. For £230 for the night I expected better and we have been to better for less money. Shame as we were really looking forward to our stay because of what we had seen on the website. Also the room are above a fish and chip shop, as it was windy last night the sign outside my room was really creaking and kept on waking me up. Maybe put some WD40 on it to stop the noise. Unfortunately we will not be back unless the rooms are updated and refurbished.

Really liked the location and the room, breakfast was excellent and the service was great.

Unfortunately the shower didn’t work very well- it didn’t stand up on its own and the water didn’t run very smoothly. We ended up having to hold the shower ourselves which didn’t make for a very relaxing time.

No onsite parking. Had to unload and load vehicle outside property in narrow street. Had to pay £20 for overnight parking at a car park, which was a 5 minute walk back to property. Owners did advise us that would be the situation.

In the centre of the lovely village so didn’t haven’t to use our car at all

Room needs a lick of paint and lots of stairs to get to the top floor which was quite difficult with a cot and push chair

The room was beautiful. The shower was gorgeous. The view was amazing and don't get me started on the fantastic breakfast 😋

We stayed in the Yen room. This room was just too small. We had to leave our luggage in car as there was not enough space. The shower was tiny so not comfortable at all for a taller, larger person.

On arrival, the room was extremely disappointing: the walls had multiple stains and splash marks that had clearly been neglected for a long time, and there was dust on the bedside table which I had to clean myself. The Wi-Fi did not work at all, despite being advertised. The room is certainly not 25 m² as claimed. The shower was far too small. It can barely fit one person, and even though I am not overweight, I could not bend down properly to wash my legs or feet.

One blind was broken. There was no.plug in bathroom sink and silver ring disappeared down the hole Instruction on what to do with breakfast dishes would have been helpful Could have been written iin info folder. Otherwise it was great

The location is perfect. The size of rooms were good. We were on the top floor and it was very quiet. The view from the room was idyllic.

The room is advertised as upmarket however this was not the case. Nothing wrong with the beds or bedding. The towels were chewing gum white. Both rooms are in need of a good lick of paint. Curtain tie back fell out of wall. The bathroom is dirty around the edges of shower. All 3 rooms look tired and they need a good tidy up. Not worth the money that we paid. Room was not like the ones advertised.

Very central and lovely room, breakfast on the first day was lovely, the bed was large and very comfortable.

There was a tile lifting in the bathroom, it was near the toilet so an extreme trip hazard, it was an easy fix, also my eggs on the 2nd day were not cooked properly and therefore not edible… no staff so no one to complain to so went without breakfast

Bed and pillows were comfortable and breakfast was nice.

I stayed at Old Bank Rooms for one night at £260 and unfortunately, it was not worth the cost. While the breakfast in-room was lovely, the location ideal, and the bed very comfortable, the room itself was far from what was advertised. Scuffed, stained walls and grey, overused towels gave the space a dirty, neglected feel. The hair dryer didn’t work, and the ironing board was laughably small – barely enough to press a T-shirt. For the price, I expected far better. I won’t be returning and would urge others to look elsewhere for a cleaner, more comfortable stay.

Our room we know it’s small and have stayed there before that’s fine however it is looking very tired. Scuffed walls, bathroom very tired and little things like no storage in the bathroom or anywhere to hang a towel it could be much better thought of to make the most of the small space

A perfect location. The room large, airy & clean. I was a little sceptical about receiving breakfast to my room, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. Quantity & it was hot!

The soft pillows for me. It would be nice to have a choice of a more firmer pillow & the option for a top sheet for us hot sleepers. I wasn't aware that we had to pay for parking when booking.

It was dirty and the room and bathroom was incredibly small. There were stains on the bedsheets. There were stains and marks all over the curtains, tea tray and walls. We only had one tray to eat our two breakfasts on. Couldn’t even switch rooms as there was no one on site to talk to. I’ve put in a complaint twice and had no response which is disgusting. £170 is certainly a high price for such an awful room.

Location is wonderful, right in the middle of the happening part of town. The rooms are beautiful, love the view out the main window. Bathroom was beautiful, nice large shower and great water pressure

Could do with a fresh coat of paint. Just a lot of paint chips etc on hall walls etc likely due to people with bags but could easily be touched up. But the place itself was spotless don’t get me wrong. Very clean rooms

Really easy to get to and find key etc. everything was explained thoroughly and everything clean. Liked that you could order breakfast to the room! Bath was really spacious and so was the shower. Bed was large and comfortable. Had all amenities you might need like hairdryer coffee teas kettle proper coffee percolator and a fridge with milk! And a fan was very much appreciated!

The plumbing was quite noisy we had to fiddle with the cold tap on the left sink to stop it from making an awful screeching noise. The windows weren’t able to be held up so we had to improvise and it was a really hot weekend. Tv only had freeview.

The breakfast was fine. But the room was so small it was impossible to eat it comfortably. We took it outside.

The room was hot, noisy and uncomfortably small. You could have been more transparent about that. Parking was also a hassle. We had to move our car twice.

Amazing view and comfy! Nice to have tasty breakfast delivered however needs 2 more chairs as 4 people staying cannot all sit to eat a hot breakfast. Be good to have a healthier option granola, fruit with yogurt option for breakfast. We shall stay again.

Location noisy in the morning & shame the walls are in such bad nick (need paint and would feel much nice place) there were coffee stains up the walls.

Full English Breakfast - the fried eggs were missing and the baked beans were slight off. Otherwise good fried breakfast. We requested 2 single beds but got a King-sized instead.

Eggs were missing and beans tasted slightly stale in the Full English B/F.

The breakfast was good, but awkward to eat in bed.
