Jacob's Meadow

We loved this stay. It's quiet, peaceful and green, set in between the hills, with a great view of hills to the front of us. We stayed specifically to go to Shrewsbury for the Folk Festival, but still managed to get to the standing stone circle only a mile or so away, and the walking around there is great. The place allows dogs, and the Pod next to us had two sets of guest who both made use of this. There's a little pond in the garden, so it's possible to sit outside (if the weather is good). The bonus of this place was that the pictures showed 'outside space' but that has now been made into a conservatory so it's essentially a 2nd room, which really helped make this a lovely experience for us. It gave us a dining room, as well as a room to work in - and as we both work remotely that let us have a room each. The wifi is good too. The tiny kitchen is so well equipped -there's an air fryer, a George Foreman gril, a hot plate and a decent microwave, so you can absolutely cook a meal here - even if you have to organise timing because of space and plugs. It was a bonus to have enough equipment of all kinds in the room. We would/ will definitely be back.

The garden and space is shared with another pod (house) which we were not fully clear or aware of - thankfully both set of neighbours closed their window blinds to allow privacy for us and them. Just something to be aware of - this would work well if you were a party of people needing separate accomodation close by each other.

The cabin bed was larger than expected, but very little headroom. The conservatory was a great bonus. Well stocked property with good quality equipment. There is no need to bring tea towels, corkscrew or anything at all. We would love to have stayed longer. Loved visiting Clun and the castle ruins, and exploring nearby walks and scenery. Check out the gift shop in Clun and also the cutest chocolate box cafe you ever did see.The grounds were beautiful. Did not see any staff but there was no need as everything was provided. Wide variety of local wildlife to enjoy. Great food at local pub- salad picked fresh from the garden (Stables Inn)

Local information leaflets were out of date, although that was not a problem for us as used WiFi to connect to Internet for information on what was going on locally.
