About this house rental
This unique home has been in the Wade family for over 80 years. The largest of the charming and historic Wade cottages, originally built as a family estate. This is the second season that the main building has been open for vacation rentals. It is particularly suitable for multi- family vacations, family reunions, retreats [including yoga, meditation, writing and art] and other special occasions.
There are 9 bedrooms [7 of which are ocean facing] and 6 baths. One bedroom is downstairs and the other 8 are upstairs. Two of the bathrooms are downstairs and 4 are upstairs.
The great room boasts a grand piano- always tuned, and a working fireplace. This grand space has huge picture windows with sweeping views of the Atlantic ocean.
Also on the first floor is a dining room, a den, and an en-suite bedroom [a newly renovated bathroom], complete with it's own ocean facing sitting room. The kitchen [with a butler's pantry] has brand new appliances. French doors open to a wide deck with a sizeable outside dining area.
Upstairs there are 8 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms.
Included in those is an en-suite king bedroom and an office/ sitting room.
The expansive lawns extend to the edge of the bluff, [where there is a private firepit behind the hedged in gate] and lead to the stairway that take you directly down to the beach.
There are 3-4 off street parking spaces.
The house and grounds are close to the village of Sconset, a short walk or bike ride away. This enchanting hamlet is host to rose-covered cottages, a local market and ice cream shop, restaurants, a children's playground and an island shuttle bus to town.
The Wade cottages include an additional smaller home on offer to rent. Both houses together and the expansive grounds can provide a lovely backdrop for group gatherings and special occasions.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at Wade Cottages. We had our entire family together for the week leading up to our daughter’s wedding with the groom’s family next door in the smaller cottage. It was just perfect. We were able to walk to the chapel and the Summerhouse. The house has everything you could possibly need - no matter what season. We had foggy mornings, one stormy day and the rest was unseasonably warm - perfect for this Virginia family. The sunrises were magical. We had a harvest moon to top off the week the night of the wedding. The beds are comfortable and plentiful, the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking in and the fireplace was such a bonus. We had fires most every night. The older kids loved sitting outside under the garden lights with the solo stove. We had a crib, stroller and high chair delivered for the week which was all we needed for a 1 and 3 year old. Alison was lovely. Super responsive and accommodating when we asked to leave luggage on porch prior to check in time. The neighbors with whom we shared a driveway could not have been any nicer in spite of our large crowd and wedding noise on Saturday. Honestly we were sad to leave such a beautiful place. Our daughter and son in law said they had the best week of their lives. Thank you Alison!

This was a majestic hundred year old home on the most beautiful piece of property. We loved the ocean views, the Sconset cliff walk, the outdoor fire pit and eating areas, and the gorgeous sunrise views. We loved the quiet area and the beautiful restaurants and cafe that we could walk to. It was a perfect location for our big family right on the water.

The location was lovely inside and out, and ideal for a large group. We enjoyed sitting out watching the sunrise, taking in the beautiful weather, and watching deer and rabbits in the yard, as well as the easy access to the bluff walk and beach. Short walk to coffee shop and restaurants in the area. Check in and out was straightforward, excellent communication from the host, who was very pleasant and helpful with any questions I had. The kitchen was well stocked with every type of glassware, dishes, utensils, everything for hosting a large group. The beds were all comfortable and bathrooms well stocked. We all enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

The Wade Cottages has everything you need. It's location is perfect and it easily accommodated our family of 11. We loved our time here.
