About this house rental
Double Happiness is located two blocks from the historic seaside Village of Siasconset on the eastern edge of Nantucket Island where the sun rises first in the United States. It's a short walk to the life-guarded beach and the classic rose-covered cottage village which has a summer movie theater, three great restaurants, a seaside bar, Claudette's sandwich shop, liquor store, food market, beachfront playground, and a post office. Kids can easily ride bikes to the Sconset Market for ice cream cones or to one of the two scenic bike paths that lead to other parts of the island.
The two story home is an almost 4000 sq ft, newly renovated 6 bedroom, 3 full bathroom house on a corner lot with a landscaped yard enclosed by privet hedges. There are three off-street parking places, two of them on private Comeau Lane, and three separate outdoor seating areas: a spacious teak deck a with gas grill, a balcony off the second floor master bedroom, and a dining table under a shady tree. At the rear of the house there is an outdoor shower and a laundry line for beach towels.
The house has an open concept, lots of natural light, with many places to gather and hang out, or to be private. On the first floor there is a large living room with a flat screen TV and Comcast Xfinity cable, an open dining room/kitchen area with high end appliances. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to make great meals or to entertain. Beyond the living/dining area French pocket doors lead to a marble floor sun room with a storage closet and a sliding glass door that opens to the deck and yard. There are also two large bedrooms with queen beds, closets and entrance. These bedrooms share a separate full modern bath with a shower and bathtub.
The newly designed second floor has four bedrooms and two full baths all with cathedral ceilings. The master bedroom (queen bed) is spacious with a walk in closet and a beautiful master bath with his and her sinks, a glass shower, skylight, and heated tile floors. A second bedroom has two twin beds; the other two bedrooms have queen beds and each has plenty of closet space. These bedrooms share a third full bathroom with heated marble floors, a large soaking tub, and a separate glass shower.
There is high speed internet throughout the house. A first floor door leads to a laundry and storage area in the basement. The house has everything you need for days on the beach, chairs, beach umbrellas, boogie boards, croquet, badminton, and other sports and cooking equipment: a large lobster pot, etc. The linen closet in the first floor bath is stocked with beach blankets and towels as well as bath towels and linens. All the ceiling lighting fixtures in the house are on dimmers for control. The newly restored public Siasconset Golf Club is a five minute drive. The Sconset Bluff walk is two blocks away - waves can be heard crashing on windy days and the Sankaty Light beam plays across Double happiness at night.

We loved our stay at this beautiful home! Close to the bike path, town and beach. The home is well equipped and clean. This is our second stay here and we will be back again!
