A lovely comfortable , quiet, relaxing stay!

This is a great hotel in a convenient spot. Staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are smart and very comfortable. Housekeeping standards are very high which we appreciate. Breakfast is good and plentiful.

Room getting a bit tired, but overall good. Great staff.

Breakfast OK, always a plus. However, the hotel was quiet so stuff was sitting under the warmers for too long. A chisel was needed for the scrambled egg. The new larger mushrooms are good. Shame about the tomato disappearing. The room was a bit damaged. Curtains hanging off the rail, broken shelf, leaking shower, door lock damaged etc. I reported this (lest I was accused of doing the damage!) and was offered a different room. The team was good about it, so another plus. As I could bodge the curtains together and I had unpacked, I declined the new room offer.

As always, cold plates at breakfast are a let-down. I just don't get hot food being put on cold plates. This morning there was room to put some plates under the warmer for a while, as has been done before. I tried for 5 mins but someone nicked my plate.

Excellent hotel

The hotel is in a good location, there is plenty of parking on site. It is a modern building with lovely big rooms and nice en suites. The staff are very helpful and professional. The breakfast is varied and plentiful.

Only one thing- the pillows are extremely soft, the consistency of marshmallow. It's a personal thing but much too soft for us.

Duvet which was a higher tog as was very thin. Pillows which supports neck and head. Water machine with ice on the floor where stopping .cupboard with the hairdryer the handle comes off.

The dining area was filthy. The kitchen was a disaster. 20 people seated most having eaten from the basic menu. 1hour 30 wait for food!

Very disappointed with the service

We checked in and were told the hotel was fully booked. We had written down we were due to arrive at midnight. Staff told us it’s a first come first serve basis. Had to wait an hour at midnight for a room to get cleaned.

Would definitely stay here again

Hotel was lovely and clean. Room was spotless, lovely and cosy, loved all the little touches with the decor, the mini Smeg fridge, corner seating area and large TV. Bed was super comfortable, bathroom and shower were great. Great location, lots of handy food venues about.

The only thing that let this hotel down was the breakfast serving area. It was really busy, lots of tables needed clearing to make way for guests. The queue to get anything was huge, the coffee machine was out of order, it was so crowded. We ended up abandoning it and going to Greggs over the road.

Good location for the event we were there for

My room was booked for someone else on the second night. They had a key to my room. Much confusion over the issue. The restaurant was not open Until 8pm we had to order a takeaway. Staff tried to fix all issues but they should not have happened in the first place

Great stay

Room was clean and tidy, bed was very comfortable, rooms were quiet, parking was free, and we loved the Smeg products in the room.

Juice machine out of order at breakfast, and food wasn't being replaced at breakfast within the last hour. Please put hot chocolate in rooms for those who don't drink tea or coffee!!

The room looked amazing, view was great, staff were friendly and amenities in room was perfect. The breakfast was a great experience and having a milk machine helped with our baby needs.

The shower was not cleaned to our standards but overall OK. The soaps provided were empty, Only shampoo available. Would have been nice to have water in kettle so did not have to use toilet sink tap. There was not a staff always available at the desk in the late morning/afternoon. I waited for long while before giving us to ask a query.

Average, let down by shower water not draining quick enough

Everything. Although they could change the menu for breakfast on occasion, to keep it different.

Th shower water didn’t drain quick enough. I found that keeping shower on for just 30 seconds would start to over flow the shower . And wouldn’t drain quickly. Despite mention to the reception 3 times nothing was done about it.
