Cosy stay in Benside

The cottage was warm and cosy. We appreciated the generous provisions left for us. Angus kindly offered us an extra night's stay when our ferry was cancelled.

Perfect for families planning to explore Lewis and Harris

The cottage is equipped with everything you could need in a home away from home and the hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly. It is ideally located for the ferry terminal and town centre shops. It's location is a perfect base for exploring all Lewis and Harris have to offer. The cottage met the needs of our multi generational family and even welcomed the four legged members of the family. We will have such fond memories of our stay for many years to come.

A very dog friendly convenient place handy for the beach and for Stornoway

it was very handy for Stornoway but still outside town. It has an enclosed garden so it’s very good for the dogs. It was very clean. It was comfortable and has all the facilities you need. Angus was very charming. He made us feel very welcome and we felt the dogs were very welcome too.

The Cottage was modern and well equipped. Angus and Moira were fantastic hosts and the location was perfect for travelling around the island. The small touches like chocolates on the bedside tables and the fire being pre-lit for our arrival were greatly appreciated.

Lovely house

Lovely 3 bedroomed property, on the edge of Stornoway. Quick drive into town or to the local supermarket. Kitchen was well set up and Andy was very welcoming, with fruit, shortbread, milk and a bottle of wine waiting for us! Lovely place to stay.

perfect location for exploring the Island. the cottage was very well stocked with essentials and the welcome bread milk fruit and biscuits much appreciated, especially as we arrived on a Bank Holiday weekend. the owners were very helpful too. we would definitely return

Perfect base for our trip to the Western Isles

A lovely cosy cottage, warm and welcoming with lovely extras such as fruit, homemade biscuits, milk in the fridge and chocolates by the beds. Angus and his family were perfect hosts as well as their two delightful labradors. Ample supply of logs and coal helped to add warmth inside whilst the wind howled and the rain fell outside! Easy access to Stornoway as well as a great base to explore the island as well as visit my friend’s brother in Stornoway. Thank you for a wonderful week and we will definitely return.

What a great place to stay! Angus and Moira have thought of everything so your stay is a home from home. Spotlessly clean, well stocked, comfortable and lots of treats left for you, including a bottle of wine! Angus is super friendly and helpful, always at hand if you needed anything. It's about 30 minutes to walk in to Stornoway and a good base to drive out to see the Island.

Lovely cottage, a cosy base for sightseeing

Our ferry was late but Angus met us and had lit a welcoming fire. We had brought supplies with us but found that everything had been thought of already with extra little treats. The location is not far from the town centre and therefore walkable although we did get a taxi twice instead of driving in. We would certainly consider Benside for future visits.

Fantastic break in a lovely cottage with great hosts.

Great location, quiet and peaceful. Angus and Moira were perfect hosts. Lovely accommodation, just what we needed to unwind and relax. Lovely welcome pack with fruit, wine, milk, plain bread (perfect), home made shortbread and bannocks which were to die for, and more. Lovely open fire (which we made the most of one evening). Would thoroughly recommend.

Nothing, only suggestion would be some guest information, eg, how to work the oven, lol, but we got the knack of it eventually,.

We were given a very warm welcome to the property by the friendly hosts who live in a neighbouring property. They were genuinely helpful and generous as quite a few treats were left for us which we thoroughly enjoyed! The cottage was spacious, cosy and comfortable, as well as being immaculately clean. The WiFi was excellent. It was a great base for exploring Lewis and Harris.

When I got lost trying to find the property in the dark, the host came out to guide me which was a great help. The fire was lit for my arrival and fuel for it supplied, as were the essentials like bread, milk, fresh juice, fruit etc. Everything you could need for a trip for work or with family was also supplied.

I have no complaints at all and very much enjoyed my stay.
