Had an absolutely fantastic stay in Stornaway, beautiful place and surroundings, lovely people.

Great flat in a great location. Quiet but nice and close to restaurants, waterfront and shops. Excellent communication from hosts Nice extra touches laid on by host such as fresh bread, milk , eggs, tea coffee etc. Would gladly stay here again and would highly recommend the venue provided by these hosts. Absolutely spotless, warm and comfortable.

Lovely - but bring earplugs!

Very good central location. Very clean and welcoming. Very good and friendly communication. Nice to see fridge stocked with milk and juice and a fresh loaf of bread and eggs

Very noisy at night with lots of shouting as people left the local pubs in the early hours. Beds a little soft for our liking - but that's a personal thing.

Great Central apartment

Brilliant location, easy to find parking for the car. Clean cosy apartment. Kitchen has everything you could need. Comfy bedroom, really enjoyed the apartment. Wonderful host! Loved the chair and foot stool in the living room - so comfy (i want 1)!

Perfect break.

The host, Donna, is very communicative and hekpful. Food already there, basics like milk, bread and eggs. Which is great when you first arrive and you're tired, don't have to immediately go back out to get shopping. The location is perfect, and the chippy on the same road is excellent. Such a lovely place, the accommodation, and of course Stornoway. I slept great in the beds, which is important because my back has been playing up. Wifi codes in lots of places is a helpful small touch. The place is clean and well thought out. We had a great time and highly recommend this place.

Didn’t realise the level of stairs but overall a value rental

There was an issue for us with all the stairs we couldn’t get the suitcases up the second flight. Also there were no instructions on how to use most of the appliances which was frustrating. Also an under bench light in the kitchen would have been good

The breakfast was good and overall I would recommend to younger fitter people - but put some instructions in!

A very good base from which to explore Stornoway and the island of Lewis.

This is a nice little flat ,very central in the town. It has been well designed to fit everything necessary into quite a small space. The flat was immaculately clean and the welcome pack,which included bread and milk,was very welcome.The beds are really comfortable.

The flat is up a steepish flight of stairs ,with more stairs to get to the bedroom and we had to be very careful,being both in our 70's with arthritis. We managed,but this might need to be borne in mind for older people wanting to use it. The kitchen space was imaginatively designed to fit everything in,but using the hob proved dark and difficult as the extractor fan and light did not seem to be working. The owner had forgotten to replace the book of instructions and information for the flat-it would have been useful to have had it.That said, the owner was very responsive to my telephone calls and texts.

Handy location and lots to like

Donna was very responsive to any emails and messages, even checking to make sure everything was okay during a storm. The location is great, although when we were there, it was a Sunday and a public holiday Monday so hardly anything was open. Donna had left some supplies that were handy for our start; bread, eggs, milk, butter, jam, apple juice, so that was an unexpected bonus. Most things were there to make our stay comfortable, even flannels which we don't always find in accommodation.

I think a tea towel in the kitchen would be handy and also some light over the stove top. Instructions on how to use the oven, etc would be helpful. Yes, the stairs are tricky but then it's an old place and to be expected. It's also quite compact, but again, older places usually are.

Great location, felt very secure, had everything we needed plus nice touches like milk & fresh eggs. Very cozy, nicely decorated and home-y, and comfortable. I left some sandals there and was contacted about it right away!

Just know there are lots of stairs, like many places we stayed in Scotland!

Good location but parking a chore...

We liked the proximity to everything you might need e.g. ferry port, shops, castle, takeaways We liked the provisions from the owner and the wee touches like fresh milk and bread, also the speed of responses with any questions. We liked the flexibility and convenience of the key safe. Also note - the fish and chip shop next door - Church Street Chip Shop is EXCELLENT.

Firstly we didn't like the distance we had to park from the property. (despite searching for a space for ages on unfamiliar streets) Despite the niceness of the bedroom, the twin beds leave a LOT to be desired. Personally, we found them very uncomfortable, small and not good quality. Didn't get much sleep sadly. Also, the bathroom layout is very awkward and uncomfortable.

The host provided a selection of breakfast foods for us to prepare The apartment is close to the central are amenities, Coop supermarket, pubs, restaurants, arts centre/cinema and ferry terminal.

Home from home host has thought of every home comfort.

The property was well located in centre of Stornoway easy to find and check in instructions were clear. The apartment is well stocked with everything you need to cook and serve meals. As well as milk, bread and basic fresh produce Donna has also stocked up with a lot of dry food etc to make preparation of meals a breeze. We were blown away with all the extras, Thank you for your kindness. The bed we were so comfy we had such a great sleep. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thank you Donna we will be back to your lovely home from home.

The accommodation was cosy, central, quiet and comfortable. I'm already thinking about a return trip for longer! Provision of breakfast items was particularly thoughtful and welcome.

Central and well equipped flat

Nice flat, centrally located and clean. The host is accommodating and responsive. The kitchen was stocked with lots of essentials like butter, milk, eggs, bread and cereals which was brilliant. I was lucky not to have neighbours downstairs which made it very quiet. The wifi and TV work really well. There’s 2 heaters which work well as the nights were fresh in August.

It’s above a chip shop so a little smelly and I couldn’t open the upstairs windows in the evenings because of the smell. The single beds are a little small and some of the windows do not have blinds which makes sleeping in the morning a challenge because of the light. Some kitchen towel and a bin in the bathroom would be a great addition.

Conveniently situated and unexpectedly sunny little upstairs flat

Catching the sun all day, this little flat is very convenient for shops and ferry but also pretty quiet at night. Many unexpected extras were provided, which was a nice surprise. Very clean everywhere and very comfy beds! Fitted carpets on all stairs and in the bedroom.

The flat is on the first and second floors of the building. I'm 75 and had I been aware of the steep steps up to the front door and up to the bedroom, I'd have looked elsewhere. The wc / shower room is downstairs off the kitchen which means awkward trips to the toilet during the night.

Comfortable, well laid out flat in great location

This is such a great little flat - compact but really thoughtfully laid out and with everything we needed for a short stay in Stornoway. Brilliant location too. The host provided breakfast supplies, which was a very thoughtful touch.

Excellent stay in such a lovely place

I liked especially the cosy little attic bedroom. The view from one window was straight to the castle. Donna provided breakfast that lasted for our whole stay. The place was next to the harbour and close to the castle. A fish and chips shop next to it for something to eat, a nice cafe and little gift shops at a 5 min walk. The apartment was very clean, the beds really comfortable, the kitchen well equipped even with an oven. The heaters were working well, and we slept really well. We were here in March, and everything was quiet in the evening which suited us fine. But we did have a glass on Harris Gin in Am Lanntair listening to local musicians jamming. We were really satisfied!
