Lovely quiet stay with free parking available

Perfect location, lovely host. It was so nice to be able to utilize a stovetop and prepare some meals. Bed was comfortable. I appreciated being able to open the windows. The area is quiet so we were able to sleep well.

We would highly recommend the top floor apartment for a group of three or more.

the location was excellent. a two minute walk from the train station and right in the heart of the old city. Easy walk to bakeries, bars, restaurants and shopping. Very spacious. we could spread out and not be in each other's way. The building was from the late 1700's and had some wonderful old beams (we were in the top floor apartment). It was very bright due to several opening skylights which all had blinds to keep it dark enough to sleep. The apartment had lots of electrical outlets for charging phones and lighting and hair dryers etc. There was parking for our car which was a huge benefit to us. Our host was very friendly and accommodating and spoke excellent English (as our French was almost non-existent). Caen itself was a pleasant surprise. We were here six days and used it as home base for touring the Battle of Normandy beaches, museums and graveyards.

It sounds picky but if you really want to know: The dishwasher didn't work very well. There was no dishsoap or rag to handwash the dishes if we didn't want to put them in the dishwasher. The floors were pretty squeaky (the wood was old and lovely and warm on the feet but noisy in the middle of the night).

Lighting in the living room area with with couches could have been better. It was a bit of a dark corner to sit and visit in. Leaving some laundry soap and a few coffee filters would be a nice touch.

Great little apartment hotel

Great apartment in a very good location. Like many people have said it is bigger than it looks in the pictures. Location could not be better - it is in a lovely old building and is just a few steps from the main bars and restaurants of Caen. Also a Monoprix not too far away for your daily shop. Furnishing and facilities in the apartment are spot on - very comfortable. It has a washing machine and dishwasher which is great! The added security of secure gated parking was perfect, especially as we were on two motorbikes. Also a Monoprix right nearby. All in all a great place to stay in Caen and would definitely return. Also a Mono

Maybe a few basic items for weary travellers that do not arrive so early - a bottle of water in the fridge maybe? A few coffee pods just to get us started? Some soap and shampoo in the bathroom? And a little clothes washing powder in a small container? (We had to buy a whole packet of washing powder for just one wash (we left it there for future visitors of course)).

Only 1 key. Had to call host to be let in despite agreeing time. 59 steps, no lift. Some steps v uneven and no handrails. Furnishing spartan. Glassware provision mean. Toilet flush on the blink. Floor only place to put suitcases etc.etc

This spacious and bright apartment is in the attic and is situated in a beautiful, historical building in the centre of Caen. The apartment is so comfortable and cosy that my family and I called it our home for the past six days and reluctantly checked out when it was time to leave Caen. Our hosts Severine and Michel are friendly and welcoming. Severine met us at the apartment to help us with parking our car as well as providing us with information for our visits to places. What we love about our apartment, - Safe and secured private parking - Super reliable and fast wifi - Clean apartment with heating - Comfortable beds with good pillows - Spacious bathroom with changing area and hairdryer - Well-equipped kitchen with fridge, microwave, grill, toaster, electric kettle, coffee machine, pots and pans - TV with plenty of french channels to choose from - Proximity to restaurants, shops, touristic buildings and monuments

Lovely apartment

Really lovely apartment at the top of a wonderful old building. The rooftop views are excellent. The apartment is very central and so there are lots of cafes, restaurants and shops within walking distance although the apartment itself was very quiet. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed staying there.

Great. Beyond my expectations and would stay again when traveling through Normandy

First visit to Normandy and this proved to be a fantastic location to visit Caen ( great city by the way) and Normandy. The apartment is on the fringe of the city centre within walking distance of restaurants/bars/shops and key historic sites and it is convenient to exit the city to reach WW2 memorials and Mont St Michel. We were met by the host, despite arriving a little late becuase of traffic. Very secure location with a gated carpark at the site. Accommodation is great and very well created to maintain the historic aspects of the building but with modern facilities. Quite a few stairs as apartment is at the very top of the building but worth it for the views of the city and the exercise does you good!! Intend to revisit as there was so much we did not see in our 3 day stay

Passer le nouvel an à Caen

La personne chargée de nous accueillir a été ponctuelle et agréable. Elle nous a fourni toutes les explications dont nous pouvions avoir besoin. Le studio est très propre.

Une fois passé facilement les deux premiers étages dans un bel escalier agréable, arrivent les marches qui mènent aux anciennes chambres de bonnes de cette belle maison bourgeoise. Elles sont particulièrement pénibles à gravir sauf à être jeune et alerte. Autant le savoir avant de réserver si vous éprouvez certaines difficultés. Les photos du studio sont particulièrement bien prises, nous avons été un peu déçu à l'arrivée, d'autant que nous arrivions le 31 décembre pour 3 jours et qu'aucun effort de déco en cette période de l'année n'avait été fait dans la location.

Lieu top mais à préserver et pas forcément pour toutes les familles.

Le lieu dans un immeuble ancien et historique du centre de la ville. L'endroit est spacieux. Et la propriétaire bienveillante et accueillante. Les anciennes marches qui vous emmènent au dernier étage. La vue est à quasi 360 degrés et on est au cœur ( sans doute trop avec les jeunes fêtards) du centre de la ville. Le parking est protégé et sécurisé attention quand même à vérifier la largeur du véhicule avant :)

Il n'y a pas deux chambres comme indiqués mais une seule ( dont le lit nest pas à l horizontale mais penche vers larriere et oui :) 😄) et les deux autres lits simples sont dans l'espace commun. Il est difficile en famille de tout concilier entre ceux souhaitant se coucher plus tard et les enfants à faire dormir. Attention au parquet qui grince tout le monde en profite. Il faudra au regard du prix faire les retouches ( joints, peintures, sol) nécessaires pour préserver ce lieu qui peut etre magique. La propriétaire nous indique que l'activité est bonne mais cela se voit et pour le tarif on s'attend à du top ( lampe en moins dans la sdb rideau en bout de vie y compris la TV qui saute et dont la dimension et la connectique vintage n'est pas en rapport avec la qualité du lieu). J'aurais aimer faire le commentaire aussi en direct mais les instructions étaient de laisser les clés.

Perfekt, wir würden wiederkommen.

Wunderschöne Ferienwohnung, sehr zentral gelegen in einem tollen historischen Gebäude. Parkplatz im Hof. Sehr geräumig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet.

Toilette hat etwas unangenehm gerochen, aber bei geschlossener Tür konnte man es aushalten.
